@@TheDarkLasombra His economic and social policies have contributed to increased inflation. Some people, like in Biden's Admin, believe that you can print/create large sums of money and will not hurt the economy. But as we are seeing right now, those people are wrong. Spending this much money creates excess cash that makes the dollar worth less, causing everything to be more expensive. Combine that with his initial energy policies and support for massively expensive foreign conflicts, and he is at least somewhat responsible for this situation. Sure, the stock market is doing great, but that doesn't help working-class Americans much because they don't have enough money to invest heavily in passive income streams.

These higher prices are the consequence of printing trillions and trillions of dollars in a couple of years. Fortunately, nobody is forced to buy or eat fast food. From the US of A here. I stopped eating fast food during the pandemic as the entire industry was clearly wanting to phase to a drive thru only model. Even after Covid these restaurants have maintained they want no one inside their lobbies. I was shocked this past week when I had to travel and I stopped at a Wendy's. I ordered two Jr. Cheeseburgers and a drink, and the total was 12 dollars. I stopped at an Arby's and got two limited time only wraps (the sale) and a small fry, it was nearly 14 dollars. These are not big items, these are more moderate snack items. I couldn't imagine if you bought the meal. My coworker mentioned last week a Burger King Whopper meal is nearly 14 bucks. So I hope the industry melts down. It will be better for America, and Global Warming because there will be less SUVs lined up idling for 20-30 mins.

This month alone T-mobile increased the rates for each phone line for your account. My storage unit that I use raised their rates by $25 each month this month as well. There are couple others this month but the point is, this is real and is happening fast. For lower income families, our budgets are becoming more and more unrealistic.

the only thing I ever eat at McDonalds is their choc chop cookies. 1.5 years ago a 3 pack was $1.60 -1.80. The last time I went (around Feb) I paid over $3 for the same 3 pack. I have no intention of buying those cookies ever again. I can get 12 similar style cookies for the same price at the grocery store.

Here in the RTP NC region, my nearest McD's has the Big Mac Meal (Combo) for about $9 (medium sized. And the large is $9.). Prices have gone up, but in the places with the huge price jump, there's a reason. MW, taxes and higher COL.

The line that prices are related to supply disruptions doesn't hold up anymore as the world is fully normal again. There are other things at play, such as minimum wage increases in many states. You can argue the merit of those policies but it's economically ignorant to ignore that the cost of labor factoring into pricing.

I went to a Mcdonalds at noon on a weekday and not a single car in the drive thru, 3 years ago there would have been a line, my thought is fast food wants to cut their food purchases in half, cut their staff in half, but make the same amount of profit by doubling or tripling the prices

Less people eating fast food affects the profitability of an individual location. Said location increases prices to compensate for lost revenue thereby further driving away customers.

This is your daily reminder that over half of recent inflation is due to corporate PROFITS. Not wages. Raise wages and lower profits will solve sooooo many problems in this country but unfortunately capitalism makes us prioritize profits over everything else
@MarkBraggs
@MarkBraggs 4 месяца назад
Why would a company intentionally lower their profits? Wages go up, companies are publicly traded and need to show growth. To compensate for higher wages they increase menu prices. Corporations aren’t charitable and they don’t care about their workers. Let’s be real

look man I am no economical genius but I don't think raising the pay for workers while lowering the sale prices is a sustainable business method.
@rpena0899
@rpena0899 4 месяца назад
@@D-S-G. All within reason. No one is saying raise wages so much that it bankrupts a company. Raise wages and lower PROFIT. That will still be sustainable and actually will be more sustainable long term since right now they're making things so unequal people can't even buy the products they produce.
