Thanks for tuning in to JUNKBUILT! Today we picked up a $2,000 manual 2nd gen cummins 24v off of Facebook marketplace! Come along with me and find out EXACTLY why this cummins diesel was the CHEAPEST manual cummins on marketplace!
Bro im a mechanic and one of my coworkers got a 2nd gen cummins for free and it had a cracked block he did the stitch job on it and it fixed it. He drives it all the time and takes it on road trips...
Loctite Epoxy Weld Bonding Compound, Fiber lock, Weld the block. You should do a video fixing that block. We will watch it but only because you ate your damn Dodge dash, lol. Goat
This video got me feeling pretty optimistic, just bought an 01 as well, nonrunning for 1800 no rust, 279000 on the dash,no cracked dash and interior is pretty decent. All stock aswell. Looking at replacing the head gasket and cooling system and that should be it. Will do fass system and guages once running
I never had good luck with cast iron repair there was an old timer from Germany had a pattern on repairing cast iron even catapiller used him for years repairing blocks for them sadly he passed his work lasted and he was up front if it would work he told you good luck but welding cast iron it any going to last. Stay will ❤ video
Repair the block by brazing over a massive plate patch. Or if you drive it around for awhile and it’s coolant consumption is not to bad then let it be, it has probably been cracked for the last 400xxx miles just top off coolant every so often
well i tell you what.... i just bleeped blooped something. that truck is a good farm truck as is but has potential. it could eventually be a going to town truck!
My truck has rusty outer rockers its a northern Ohio truck since new so it is to be expected i guess.. it does have its good points it has a original Ohio title and owners manual and the factory ignition key with the Rams head cut into the plastic on the key, and unfortunately the junkyard swapped doors are also red blasted black because it is a gloss black truck and the doors are from a regular cab or a early club cab truck so rounded corners and the quad cab door is square corners.
My front speakers kinda worked until I replaced them with new aftermarket 3 way 6x9's and they have really decent bass response and sound great but they need spaced out away from the door the magnet structure on the back of the speaker interferes with the power windows going further than halfway down, and with the wiring harness being cut out, neither rear door speakers work nor the pillar mount tweeters so i get to trace wires and probably have to run all new wires on both sides and run up to the stereo and splice into the factory dash wiring plug and i don't want to do that and the dr side rear door is seized in place so i have to grind off the studs of the door latch and then pry on the top latch because it was seized on top and bottom of the door.lol lucky me...
I got a similar truck to this truck except a 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab 318 magnum V8 gas long bed 1500 4x4 210k miles some rust around the edges front doors are junkyard swapped and the wiring harness is gone.. $1,500
