Jackstand: here's a drivability mod for your boat: stick a big ol manual flywheel onto your engine instead of the flex plate! It'll make it start and idle wayy better, and will help the ignition timing stay stable, that was some harsh knocking I was hearing... A real flywheel with some mass will make everything better

James is right, “I have a RU-vid channel”. This dude changed the game for our favorite channel.

My father raced Jet boats back in the 70's and 80's. He raced in the unblown gas jet in the SDBA class and the modified gad jet in the NDBA class. The SDBA class limited engine CID to 496, the NDBA class had no limit to engine CID. His number was 119, Tennessee Lightning because the record for his class was 119 mph. He used a Jim Young blood hull...I was 14 then and he and I could lift the hull off the trailer! He bought a 560cid Big Block from a guy in TX. Back then you couldn't buy a crate motor in that CID. He put that motor in in the boat with a Hilborne fuel injection and a drilled out main pill and the boat flipped at half track. That hull would trap air between the water and the boat. A new hull was being designed by a local group of guys in Memphis. I was with dad when he was asked to invest in this New type of hull designed not to flip at high speeds. Your red boat looks just like that experimental hull purposed by the guys to my dad. It's a deep vee with tunnels at the rear to release air pressure. You guys may have a piece of jet boat history. Don’t count out those 2 stroke out drives they’re efficient at putting the power down and light as can be. I have a 200hp Mercury that surprises a lot of people while actually being able to have a nice bench seat in the back.
