We just had a accident with out Tesla Y as it was rear ended. Went to the SC and they recommended a authorized Tesla repair shop. Got a insurance number from the persons insurance that hit us and was able to get an estimate and it will be 2 months before they can get it in and the parts to fix it. Thankfully the car is drivable and the process has gone very smooth. Oh the Y is only 3 weeks old, which is a bummer 😂

Same damage, I got done for $5K. This is from a regular body shop. These so called Tesla certified places are charging 4- 5 times .

I have had 2 Tesla’s totaled and had another one go through the repair process. The repair and service experience was terrible. Tesla had my car for nearly 6 months. I got it back and sold it.

Hey Rob, had been tapped into about 3 years ago and total cost of repairs was $8k, after which I applied for DVC, AND got an additional $9.6. Hope your parents do the same. NY residents and ANY other state may also have the same. Or at least $5k small claims court $$$'s. Met life company was guys insurance company and it only took 3 weeks to get a check. Cha Ching..!!

Nice video. I would add that if the other party admit fault, you need to also request for diminish value assessment and reimbursement. Since the car has been repaired it would affect resale. This is along with a temp rental car. Cheers

$20k doesn’t really get you much these days, unfortunately. My Honda needed a new rear bumper, trunk lid and trunk lining. That alone was $14k.

My 2021 mS was repaired for fender scrapes caused by a vallet service. An authorized Tesla repair shop in MA made me wait 6 weeks before starting job b/c he had over 30 Teslas to fix in the backlog. Repair time was about 10 days and insurance paid $6200. Any other brand would have been closer to $2000. A few years ago my 2017 mS had a damaged rear door, hinge, etc. Repair cost was a stunning $17,000. Both repairs were done perfectly.

I have Tesla 2022 MYP. Love it. The only my concern to use autopilot on stop and go traffic is that it stops really hard. It really feels like “break check” to other drivers. Couple days ago one box truck yelled at me cz my tesla stopped really hard so he barely stopped behind of me. I saw lots of accidents where cars rear ended to Teslas. I understand that you have to pay attention to the traffic but Tesla needs some kind of adjustment to the breaking.

You can set up your Tesla to stop 1-5 car distance ahead. This way if the traffic comes to a sudden stop you have enough distance to move forward and not get rear ended. I live in so cal and this has saved my Tesla a few times.

I got backed into in a parking lot yesterday. I had just picked up my new 2024 Model 3 LR on Sunday. So I haven't even had it for a week yet. Incredibly frustrating, thankfully it is only cosmetic but it damaged a few different panels. I am worried it is going to be a nightmare to get resolved.

had my Tesla for 3 days before the pcs took a dump only had 130 miles on it. roadside came and destroyed my front bumper with a flathead screwdriver. so much for being trained to tow tesla's

When I try to call Tesla road assistance, they say it is not available in my area. That was in the Boston suburbs, not in the middle of nowhere.

Robert --- diminished value claim? Due to carfax ect ? When they go to sale it it worth less now. Insurance company don't like this claim so they don't tell you about it.

Robert: My wifes 2022 My was delivered end of April,after being ordered in Oct2021. 6 weeks later the car was rearended to the tune of $31,650. After waiting 2 mounths for parts the car is still in a certified Tesla body shop . We as of now have no firm return date. They say MAYBE in November. Total time could be more than 5 mounths. I did contact Tesla after 3 mounths and they replyed in 24 hours th say the car was in the body department and being repaired. So 2 mounths waiting for parts but plenty of parts for new builds. This our second Tesla as we also have a 2019 M3. Hope you do updates on your parrents car.

I’ve been in two accidents in my model 3. One was 16,000 and repairs the second one was 7000 and repairs. make sure your parents file diminished value claim.

UPDATE Our MY went in for repairs on June 6th. We just got an estimated finish repair date of November 21st.

Be careful when using the honk to save. @Sarajawesome has a great recent vid on her page about how she lost some of the footage from honking multiple times.
