The 2024 Mako Pro Skiff 13 CC is the perfect entry level boat for the first time buyer. In return, you get a very stable platform for fishing, diving, snorkeling, or simply cruising out to enjoy the local sand bar. The boat measures in at 13’6 in length, has a beam of 6’, and is powered by a Mercury 40hp 4 stroke outboard. In the right condition, this allows you to hit speeds of around 30mph.
At the Daytona Beach Boat Show, this example was on offer for only $20,530 including the upgraded outboard and trailer. Fantastic value for money!!

Good for you, Garnock! A practical - let alone brand new! - boat to get someone on the water. Practical because most vehicles can tow it, many a home can make room for the trailer and, unlike most power boats, its fuel cost becomes all but incidental to affording it.

Thanks, Jack! This one almost had me call the wife from the boat show 😂 In a couple of years' time, it would be perfect for me to take my grandson, who is 3, just now out cruising and fishing. I'm curious how this will do on RU-vid. I can name more people with a spare $200 per month than $2,000 or $20,000. It may do well, but time will tell.

@@GarnockReviews I've been tracking a channel that had little attention for a few years as the owner (a sailor) did the typical "ICW to nearby Bahamas, down & back". Then his channel exploded when, with no voyaging experience, he began giving 'expert' analysis of older cruising sailboats. He's been successful by offering a blend of two related, appealing topics: affordable boats & a whiff of the cruising bug. That's why I mentioned the possible theme of affordable boats in response to you inviting channel suggestions. All of us drool at the shiny new gelcoat, & megawatt stereo systems of today's new boats, but few can afford them. I confess I'm confounded that so few reviewers sprinkle boats like this affordable Mako in their content....but then, maybe the problem is so few viewers want to abandon dreaming the big dream. Or a bit of both.

It seems like the magic formula is somewhat affordable trawlers that can do the loop. I've got a few more boats already lined up to film that should fall into that category. The Mako is a great boat and I was surprised that there's very few youtube videos on it. Guess we will find out in a few days time how the views go, see if it makes me a champ or a chimp 😁

I’m seriously considering this boat for me and my son to fish out of. Mostly because it fits in my garage. The other fishing boat are about a foot too long.

Is the black round cap at the tip pf the bow where the gas tank is filled?

I see what you see, but not 100% sure what it's for. I looked up other videos and looked at the manufacturers website and can't say for sure. I don't think it's fuel as it looks like it leads straight into that compartment on the bow. Next time I see one in person, I will check for sure!

No that is for the running light. There is no gas cap on the Skiffs as you just pump the gass streight into the red portable tank. You could add an access hole with a cap if you think you need to just above the tank, but I just go direct, it is only 6 gal.

@@GarnockReviews I watched a Carolina Skiff review saying it does not ride well in waves. I would like to hear from someone who has actually experienced the boat in waves, not just looking a some video the manufacturer puts out.

You might be able to get more info on Facebook groups or forums like the Hull Truth. I'd take what they say with a pinch if salt as it's easy to say things on the internet without proof. Best way to see if the boat is up to your expectations, is to check it out for yourself 😉

@@GarnockReviews Does well with small waves, it not designed for open seas or high waves, more like an inland waters boat
