I see what you see, but not 100% sure what it's for. I looked up other videos and looked at the manufacturers website and can't say for sure. I don't think it's fuel as it looks like it leads straight into that compartment on the bow. Next time I see one in person, I will check for sure!
Thanks for watching Robert, I appreciate it. There were a couple of TLC spots when I was onboard, but I didn't see and I am not aware of anything major structurally or mechanically wrong with the boat. I would always recommend a good sea trial and survey for any boat, especially one of this value. I would be very surprised if the report highlighted anything of major concern with this one.
Very few boats of this size have the access this one has. It would be far easier to service and maintain this boat long term than most others on the market
If I was doing that route, I'd put a bladder tank on the aft deck. She has the seaworthy capabilities for the passage, but the range is cutting it close. A bladder would give you that extra piece of mind 😉
I tried to find more details even from other reviews that show the different speed and fuel consumption figures, but couldn't find it. They all show around 75 miles but doesn't really say at what speed etc. 🤔
God there is nothing nicer than a well maintained wooden yacht. I owned a smaller version of this boat 42’ I loved it but all good things come to an end. I’m too old now but I love these boats. Look at a Mathis Trumpy if you get a chance. Now there’s a yacht for you. ✌️🇺🇸
That would be a cool little boat to have up here in the mountains on the lake to go fishing. As a matter of fact, I was at a customer's house a few months ago and they had a boat very similar to that in their driveway that faced Lake Chatuge on the North Carolina side of the lake in Hayesville.
I've never been on one, but they look very stable for their size. Would be a fun boat for lakes and rivers etc. They do rentals of these in Amelia Island and now Palm Coast. I'm tempted in trying them out when it cools down more outside. It was 109 degrees the other day, and I don't see AC listed on the spec sheet 🥵
She is a Bristol vessel for certain… kudos to her owner. That said, she is long in the tooth and that price is outlandishly high. The real red flags for me are (1) her engines… 100 HP Yanmars? Her low cruising speed is dangerous in open oceans with a top speed only a few knots more. You cruise at sea…you are going to hit big seas and storms… a big fuel tank with tiny engines and long range are ridiculous. And she needs a bunch of new electronics and redundant systems. Hew owner has a major problem…. poor planning when buying equals getting beat up when selling. He is looking at a beating… no way I would cruise on this boat let alone entertain buying her. He gets maybe $350,000 on a good day with a novice buyer.
I will take two just need to go in my backyard and trim some off my money tree lmao. Sorry i am a working man only the super rich need apply 184 thousand to me is no different than 1 million numbers like that do not compute my house was less than that and i make 40 grand a year so no thanks lol.
Unless you believe in miracles, I don't see boat ownership on my cards either. They are expensive toys not only to buy, but to maintain. I enjoy being around them and getting to check out the different makes and models etc.
@@GarnockReviews Yeah I bought a boat brand new in 2008 it was just a 2008 Bayliner 175 I loved it had a lot of fun and the damn thing went 50 mph with just me in it from a 4 banger that was cheap to run plus I had the camper top so if it rained I stayed dry me and my wife still have it. She makes a good living so maybe when all our debts are paid we could buy one but it would be second hand. Even if we make 165 grand a year combined with the cost of living these days and debts it would still take a miracle but you have a good attitude it is better to stay positive but life can beat anyone down lol. I am glad we bought our house when they were still cheap and it's paid for now. It's worth 5 times more than what we paid do not know how kids today can ever afford one.
They actually look like they are very sea worthy for only being 13ft. If you look at the manufacturers site, you will see more pics and videos of the boat under way.... www.makoboats.com/inshore/pro-skiff-13-cc.html
@@GarnockReviews I watched a Carolina Skiff review saying it does not ride well in waves. I would like to hear from someone who has actually experienced the boat in waves, not just looking a some video the manufacturer puts out.
You might be able to get more info on Facebook groups or forums like the Hull Truth. I'd take what they say with a pinch if salt as it's easy to say things on the internet without proof. Best way to see if the boat is up to your expectations, is to check it out for yourself 😉
Great bargain in a really bristol little yacht. What a terrific package. In a perfect world she’d have twin diesels for safety at sea but otherwise there are no red flags. As always superb review… thanks!
I agree 100%. When I was asked to come film a boat that's over 20 years old, I never in a million years expected it to look this good!! I've seen new boats with less shine than this 😉
Thanks Mike, glad you enjoyed it 😊 I'm hoping to get onboard another Great Harbour next month to bring to the channel. It's an older boat but will be interesting to do a compare and contrast to this one 😉
With all of those fans running in every space, the boat desperately needs an A/C upgrade. This would be the perfect "hobby" project for someone with an open budget.
I love this one too Erik. Only thing is, the Yanmar fuel economy and range is a big part of this yachts appeal. Those Cummins I'm sure would drink more than the Yanmars, and with the hill design, you probably won't get much more speed.
@@GarnockReviews could always get the 5.9 de tuned. I have a 8.3L 250 hp 6c Cummins in my 50’ commercial schooner and I’m barely using 3.5gph doing 8.5kts@2100 rpm. All comes down to gear ratios and prop pitch, I think on the low end the 6b is offered at 210hp, then again I’d opt for a single screw, not as easy to maneuver, but then again there are so many thruster options on the market now. My biggest beef with marine engines is that if you read the data tags, they are generally listed as recreational engines, and not rated for constant duty ie long distance passage making. I prefer engines with an industrial heritage meant for the long haul. Throw in a keel cooler and a dry stack exhaust and you will never again have to mess with a heat exchanger or raw water pump/impeller. At least they aren’t Volvos!!!!
I honestly can't say for this one, but this was roughly 1 year ago. I wonder if they bought it for a specific trip and are selling now the adventure is completed 🤔
You would think for the boat show they would have cleaned the leaves from between the cushions. Would love to see if you could have a Part 2 on the water.
That's partly my fault. I was one of the first people in the show as I was trying to beat the crowd 😎 This would be a fun boat to sea trial for sure!! Thanks for watching 😉
It's really difficult to put a price on it, as each one is semi custom. You can change so much about the spec that in turn changes the price. For an accurate price, your best bet is reaching out to Burr Yachts. As a very rough guide, it looks like it would be around $3.5m based on other reviews I've found online.
Insurance in general in Florida is tougher than ever before, even for homes and cars. I'd recommend reaching out to a good independent insurance agent who should know how to shop around for specialists and get the deal done 😉
