I bought one of these some 10 years ago.. made a hammer pole instead of a spike, and made the blade into a tomahawk profile with beard very similar to yours, but slightly more pronounced. Cut the handle a bit below where the red paint ends, then wrapped it in paracord about 1/3 of the length.
It's all about watching videos and the right tools that's where you learn mostly like myself, one tip get a rag on the head bunch it up a little and put your fileon the rag to get a angle Drag back and Fourth so you are making a bevel you can get a Very good edge on the hawk this way ,,, oh and safety shoes please get some proper footwear,and eye protection and a mask so you don't get the metal dust in your lungs ,, but all in all great video keep going dude peace
