It's a Toyota, of course it will make it! I've owned several 4 cylinder manual Toyotas. Put snows on them, and they'll always get you where you need to go. My current ride, a 2012 Toyota Tacoma 4 cylinder manual (yes somewhat gutless), is a reliable workhorse, especially on snowy dirt and logging roads. Just love it, and figure I'll be keeping it at least another 5 years. You found yourself a smoking hot deal of a rig with that Rav! Always enjoy your content! Ice shacks are already popping up here on Lake of the Woods!
Thanks you my friend! I had a 96 Tacoma 4x4 back in the day with the 2.7 l 4 cylinder and that thing was a tank. Will last forever, it's a tractor engine And when I hunt down an older Tacoma that's the engine I will be looking for 👍🍺. Enjoy your Sunday and thanks again for the comment 🤠
Hey Jimmy, for $2000 you got yourself a nice little rig. I'm glad it held out for your trip. What I love about your travel videos is, you go through some really beautiful areas. I love how you eat, kinda like me, lol. Old Milwaukee, that's a beer I haven't had in ages. I like how you think, with a great attitude. Thanks for taking us along on your travels.
Great video, snow tires are awesome, Toyota's have always been great , can u imagine being a truck driver that has to do that trip all the time, my respect to them, And anyone that drives it. It's amazing that people can live in a place that has eighty some feet of snow. 😳
Jimmy you only need to get from point A to B. I do believe this beater will get you home! You know your vehicle’s. It’s in good condition on the outside. Great music! Great deal Jimmy! Have a great week. Home at last❤🍺🍺🍺🍺
Collect moisture absorption packets (you get them with all kinds of products) and put them together in a breathable fabric pouch. Keep that pouch under your seat in the car, it'll cut down on the interior fog.
Hey Jimmy, I love all your videos but this one was pretty EPIC! Love the story telling of your trek from the coast to the mountains really made watching fun! That RAV4 is pretty amazing for $2K, it reminded me of the toyota pickup you got a few years ago! You were wise to get snow tires (although I know you know! :)). The mountain scenery was gorgeous, even though the conditions were treacherous...there were so many scenes, but loved the clip starting around 15:48 or so, with you driving through snow forested trees on both sides and the mountains in the background, just beautiful. Your living the dream, got a beautiful home of a boat in a beautiful bay and cabin in the woods, doesn't get much better than that! Hope that engine light isn't anything serious, looking forward to the 2K RAV4 Project videos. You should rename this video, call it: "Life is short, put the pedal to the metal and damn the engine lights of life!" Lol!
Thank you Steve, much appreciated 😁! Some great views for sure, you would have tons of fun out here with your photography skills 👍. Lol on the engine light of life 🤣👍. Already took care of it and it was just an upstream sensor 1 bank 1 02 sensor. Took about 10 minutes to fix, woo hoo! Have a great Sunday 🍺
The vistas! WOW! Have to watch this one a few times to see all the scenery! Incredible! Waiting to see the diagnostic on the engine light is? Battery maybe?
Thank you very much buddy! So I fixed the engine light. It was bank 1, sensor 1 upstream 02 sensor. I replaced it this morning and it's running like a top. There was a bit of hesitation in it before but now it drives like a new car. 🍺👌🤠
It is a Toyota, that's all said..enjoyed your video. Thank you very much for sharing this trip..Good continuation..by the way, what was mileage when you bought it?
Thank you, Roi 👍. I believe it was around 355,000 kilometers. Not much power, but a great little snow machine. Here is the review on it if you are interested. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BQRheJvrHCQ.html
Dang, you got a sweet deal there! I'm looking at a 98 myself, but it's a lot more money lol. I know they aren't meant to be powerful engines, but if you think yours is TOO gutless, check the catalytic converter. When they get that old, they can be almost completely plugged. Late to the party but I'm going to enjoy the rest of this series.
Hi, and thanks for the comment. 👍. When I got to my destination, it didn't take long for the thieves to cut my catalytic converter out. I've been running a straight pipe since 👌😊. It's still slow on steep mountain roads, but on the flat, it's okay.
Glad you made it home OK. Looked pretty dicey at times. Think I'd 💩myself making a journey like that at the best of times let alone with an engine light on. My Canadian hubby did a similar mileage this week for work and drove through 4 countries! Just highlights the vastness of Canada. Stay warm and cosy! Oh and as for jerky.....nope!🤣
Haha, can visualize that 🤣. I'm looking for a 5 speed. The 5 speed is very cool because they have a locking center diff button, turning that little rav4 into a true 4 x 4, but without the low ratio of course. 🤠👍
I towed our Rockwood Roo from Brantford to Surrey. My Tacoma got a workout. It used 40 litres per 100 towing. I got a 20 Tundra...much better for towing. The Coke was a real hard drive towing our camper.
90s and 2000s Toyotas were built the very best some claim like Ivan from PHAD. My wife and drove her 16 RAV 4 to Surrey in 2019 for our daughter's wedding. The 2.5L is very peppy. I had no trouble going 140 kph on the Coke.
Thanks Mike! It's definitely a little tank. I gave it a well deserved wash and fixed that engine light problem. Not sure it's happy about these temperatures though 🤣. I had a 2018 RAV4 and it was great 👍. Thanks for the comment and have a great Sunday
