I have the X12 and absolutely love it. Highly recommend you reconsider using and refilling plastic bottles. Microplastics are a real issue and these plastics end up in the water you and your kids are drinking. Much much better to use glass especially when you are refilling it.
Don't use plastic containers for water, some plastic chemicals will go in to the water, instead use any glass container. Also you can add very small amount of sea salt. This way your water will have about 90 different minerals in it. Don't use table salt it's toxic.
The PH level should be 7.35-7.45, or 7. Try to keep the PH level in the 7 range, so if you get lower, or higher then I suggest you make adjustments by adding something to increase, or decrease the PH level.
How do you like the X16 one compared to the K6? Is the loss of the hot water function a deal breaker? Or is the slow flow rate of the K6 just not worth it compared to the high pressure of the X16?
after having the X16 for a few months now we still enjoy using it daily. I do like the X16 better overall. The X16 is a 3:1 (3 cup clean water for 1 cup of waste) filter, it has remineralize filter, it has a very fast water flow. if your'e someone who is going to be refilling lots of water bottles and 1 gallon jugs (like we do) then the X16 is the way to go. The hot water function isn't a deal break for us anymore as our baby is growing and she doesn't drink formula anymore. it's also summer so the water is room temperature and not ice cold like in the winter. The K6 on paper has a GPD (gallons per day) of 600 compared to 1600 of the X16. it looks significant, but GPD 600 is actually quite fast. I made a video on the K6 if you want to check it out. i think the biggest factor for most people would be in the price. you are looking at $600 vs $1500 (approx). both filters work amazing.
