My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.
I feel one Of the greatest challenges that we first timers face in the ma rket is that we end up losing all we have,making it difficult to find ourselves back to our feet. My biggest advice is to always seek the services of a professional just like I did when I ventured into it for the first time. Big thanks to Larysa Caba. I think she trades for everyone I meet. I met her twice at a meeting in Germany and after her lectures from Ella I had to personally ask her to be my financial advisor. she is definitely good.
I have never seen a trader as open and transparent as Larysa Caba with her clients. The way she decides to make a profit for her clients. she allows you to express your fears and she still rests your fears and that is my respect. I love Rory’s advice as he really understands behavioral science. I work in marketing and i genuinely believe the rise in digital and the ROI tracking of that have killed has more of a detrimental impact than many see. Trying to justify brand led activities where you can’t apply the same metrics becomes very hard for get sign off for. Yet look at so many behavioural backed examples that work “ playing German background in a wine shop increases sales of German wine. Yet when customers were surveyed why they bought the wine they did, no reference to the music was made…’

Simon waited patiently for 10 minutes until he could speak 1 sentence. You need a lot of patience for that. Nevertheless, lots of very interesting facts about marketing and lots of good ideas!
Goodhart’s Law, that Rory Mentioned perfectly sums up what’s wrong with so much of the education system. Here is a description of the law: ‘Goodhart’s Law is expressed simply as: “When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure.” In other words, when we set one specific goal, people will tend to optimize for that objective regardless of the consequences. This leads to problems when we neglect other equally important aspects of a situation’. How does this apply to education? Departments of Education worldwide decided they wanted to measure how good education is with standardized tests, as a result preparation for the tests became the target of teachers. In other words, teachers started teaching to the test. As a result, other equally important parts of education have become neglected.
It’s the same theory of the cake mix company that housewives weren’t buying in the 60’s. They made it so they needed to add an egg and the effort level changed and it started to sell. 33:34

Yup ..very well informed and has so much to tell.... he's an unstoppable freight train....I know cuz I'm that sometimes, well a lot but I know it's not good for exchange rythym. Rory is super informed tho and ppl who want to learn should be able to listen at length also.
As an older person I think it comes back to excellent customer service and value for money. When First Direct Bank started they started online when not many people did online banking. They answered calls within 3 rings, they had excellent customer service. The grew very fast. The are part of HSBC.

This was a very insightful video. I am a musician and have found marketing music such a challenge. I can not tour as I have a young family but, by treating my music as a business and now I am realising the website I am building is going to be more than just presence online but, in a way my little shop. Being inviting, open and clear about my offerings and even pricing for music needs to be clear snd right. I am going to invest time in researching digital marketing
There was a brand who created baking mixture which requires nothing but some water and you will bake it and eat it. Such product did not get much traction. Later, the company removed some of its ingredients and asked its customers to add an egg and water, and then bake it. Literally, their sales went up. Why? Because the women wants a sense of achievement while baking a cake. Therefore, giving the women an opportunity to contribute towards baking, made them happy and part of the process. Learning human psychology so also very important in marketing.
Being in marketing and performance measurement since 15 years. All the conversation with CEOs and CFOs fighting for budget etc. all of them should watch those videos for education purposes. Hard to tell them this opinion and get buyin sadly. Great content. Reading alchemy currently...great book.
Simon... Rory is an industry titan, removing his name from the title to go for a cheap clickbait title is not a good look. Have to call you out on that I'm afraid, that is pretty disappointing. Whoever advised you to do that clearly doesn't know who this man is.

This was an excellent and insightful conversation that exposes entrepreneurs to the true value of understanding human psychology. Number crunching automotons can't start businesses or grow them, this is a reality that automation evangelists aren't conveying. It's possible that more businesses need Dream Big days that equally involve marketing as they do the CEO and creatives. One objective, one focus around complementary roles to achieve a collective Big outcome.
The sheer diversity of possibilities to start a business is staggering and that’s once again emphasised in the video. What I like the most though, and it is the direction I am going now to create my own business, is the adoption of a customer perspective. If you feel out of your depth you're learning and moving forward. Keep going and learn from your failures. Try to understand value as best you can. Money loves clarity, if you can solve a problem for people clearly, provide a load of value you can make a lot of money. Lastly the fact you're watching this video, you're 20 years ahead of me 😊

Simon could you make the videos on IRL business traps what happens in that Thriller journey. I’m from India so the Geographical Zone does change the rules of this game. So how can anyone manage it. In business many things could be different but the unfiltered information and hidden knowledge is just priceless. Same like in Online business everyone is making it but nobody know how to make it. 🤯
Simon, I must say that I appreciate your focus on encouraging individual entrepreneurs and your no take and give principle. In my view, I might have an idea that will really change the way content creators especially those who are AI driven interact with their environment. The platform is, in essence, quite different from RU-vid since its aim is to enhance creators’ freedom and actually reward them in ways that have not yet been done by other such platforms. Like you, I consider technology to be in the course of action, and also a problem on its own and I think that it will be a revolution for many creators around the world. INCREDIBLE that you've created a collab with Rory. Ive been following both of you for some time, and this is great. I really liked the fact that it was highlighted how losing business through lack of subliminal marketing can cost more, than leaking revenue, and how it needs more education - very difficult to quantify, yet so so so important.

Hey Simon, audio is more important than video. I think the audio quality here is not up to a level that you could reach. Not saying that you need podcast microphones but I think that one could make this better.
