Hello Greg Just discovered your channel and I am enjoying your videos. I've done some treasure hunting in Arizona and all throughout the southwest. This is a really good location. Thank you for sharing the story and stories. I think I'm going to make another trip to Arizona and scan these areas.

Just ordered your book and am enjoying your videos. I need you make a new video every week because these are so interesting to watch and listen too and I don’t have the patience to wait months! LOL Your book should get to me on Monday. Thank you. BTW I’m a metal detectorist and just started gold prospecting and panning so what you have to offer is just up my alley!

Clint, Thanks for signing up. As far as a video a week that would be pretty hard as each video I show takes a lot of research, time to video it and then it goes in for editing which takes another week or so. I try to make them informative and entertaining as there is so much history in Arizona that relates to them. Glad you liked them and I am working on producing a couple of more right now. Greg Hawk

Wondering if you ran the metal detector on the tree to see if it may have a bullet lodged in it? Very Nice finds.

If all of that was found on the surface, imagine what history you can unearth with a metal detector
@briandm33
@briandm33 2 года назад
Yeah I think most of the treasure legends were found by Metal Detector under the radar over the years by guys that searched for most of these Treasures in the state of Arizona. I honestly think that most of it is either found or is just a myth in a ghost story.
@michaelpacnw2419
@michaelpacnw2419 2 года назад
@@briandm33 I think you are partially right, but there is still a lot out there. It's only been the last 40 years or so that metal detectors were available, and there is a lot of country out there to search. The worst part are the US laws regarding treasure troves on public lands absolutely guarantee that if a treasure is found it will not get reported. I can only imagine how many historical artifacts have been melted down and sold as scrap gold/silver.

The easiest place to dig a quick hole and then conceal that activity would be in one of the waterholes...

The area at Pine Springs has been searched many times and I don't know of any one that has found it. I found some old spent rifle cartridges dating back to the era in close proximity to Pine Springs. It is a good place to camp and get away so enjoy it if you go. Cheers, Greg Hawk

$225,000 in gold would weigh A LOT… hundreds of pounds
@randomtangents5204
@randomtangents5204 6 месяцев назад
Yes, figuring that they were $20 gold pieces each weighing 1 troy ounce then we would be looking at 771.44 lbs., plus or minus. If there were 16 small wooden nail kegs then they would each weigh about 48 lbs. In today's money I can't fathom what that amount of gold would be worth? A Lot! Cheers, Greg Hawk

I have a question because I like your side of the pine spring story best if you could meet up with me..could you grid off the location of your finds..
@randomtangents5204
@randomtangents5204 Месяц назад
Don't know if I will be up that way anytime soon but I can tell you this. As you come into the Pine Springs flat the road "Y's" and you go to the left and then turn back to the right where there looks to be a lot of old camp sites overlooking the meadow. From the edge of these trees we sounded a strip about 200' wide and clear out to what looked to be the spring setting in the middle of the meadow. We didn't pick up anything. Previously I used my metal detector and found old used cartridges dating back to that time period right around the tree that sets about 50' out from the stump that is at the edge of the trees where you park. Other treasure hunters have contacted me and believed the old stage station was not right at the spring but about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. I have not heard of anyone yet that has located the lost strong box with the gold. Good Hunting and if you have any more questions I would more than happy to tell you what I know. Good Hunting!

@@randomtangents5204 well when I have time to get back out there if you have time..I will contact you if you can point out what you know I don't know if I will be alone but I will share what I find. Between me and you and or another person...I have another pine spring location in Guadalupa Park were they say that the 3 boxes were taken in 2 different times but I found a foundation that measures the same as the depo station it is my opinion the original location and the other was made for convenience for the traveler's. I have a ground prob so to speak what you said makes since water is not the best place to have animals or buildings because of Flys and bugs high and dry would be my guess because visual and wind to blow away the flies I think as long as the people from Prescott didn't find it then I think it could be found..but I think it could take a few weeks to rule out the areas of interest. Do you know anything about most land mark in the area and north west of the area

@randomtangents5204
@randomtangents5204 9 месяцев назад
Hello, I was told the story and the location fits the story as the Pine Springs Stagecoach Station was a real station. It only was there for a couple of years as the stage running from Santa Fe, NM to Prescott, AZ. Other treasure hunters have contacted me in search of it and some believe the actual stage station sat approximately a 1/4 mile or so from the actual spring. Yes, there could have been more than one Pine Springs Stage Station but I never heard of the one in Texas. Cheers, Greg Hawk

Diesel Mike, I buried a $100 bill in a mason jar up there last year at Pine Springs and over in the area of the Lost Confederate Treasure I did a video on. The $100 there was found, and the guy sent me a picture showing him finding it. The $100 at Pine Springs you will need a metal detector to find it as the metal lid on the mason jar will give it away. I will give the directions to it again in the next few weeks on my treasure blog at Desertroamerpress.com Cheers, Greg Hawk

I have seen motorhomes back on that road but not all the way to Pine Springs. They usually go a couple of miles and then pull off and use their ATV's for further exploring. Before I would go very far in, I would first drive a car or truck in to see how the road is this year as I haven't been back in there yet. A beautiful place so spend some time. Enjoy, Greg Hawk
