Mark Zeigler of MZYachts kindly invited us to check out one of his latest listings, a 2000 Legacy Yachts 40 Sedan. This boat is maintained to an unbelievably high standard, and you see that as you walk up and notice all the woodwork is undercover when not in use to avoid the Florida sun burning or bleaching it!
Upgrades in recent years include new electronics, new house batteries, new bow/stern thruster batteries, hull professionally repainted, all engine hoses replaced, engine mounts replaced, air conditioning units serviced, and so much more. This is one lovingly maintained blue water cruiser that is ready to take on the Great Loop!
The yacht is powered by a single Cummins 6CTA 8.3M3 diesel engine producing approximately 450hp and gives a cruising speed of around 8 - 10 knots. However, when you need to dodge a storm or make that next bridge opening, this boat can be powered up to hit the high teens!! For maneuverability, the yacht is equipped with both bow and stern thrusters, accessible on both helm stations. The lower helm also boasts clear access to the deck on both sides, making this a very easy boat to operate single handed.
