haha thanks a lot Stefan, im flattered. well, as a matter of fact, i am a artiste here in china and taiwan tho. im a singer song writer, and filming is my passion. haha thanks man. yea, the parfocal is really sweet
this will cover image circle up to red gemini, which is abt 1.2x crop i think. anything more than that will vignette. on a ff camera, zoom in 10% will get rid of the vignette, so image circle is quite big
Thanks for this, these really look great. Will deff buy a set when I can. Too bad the white edition is so much more expensive. Love that the color scheme is similar to panavision lenses
Did you ever get a set? I kept checking B&H for weeks (hoping for a price drop on the white ones) until one day to my surprise they were down to 4799 (from 5399), so I pulled the trigger. Eventually they went up to 4999, and now all the way back to 5399. Right now there seems to be a used pair of white ones for 45XX, so might be worth checking into if you’re still interested.
I am trying to swap out the PL to EF mount. The screws don't reach when I attempt to attach the EF mount. Are there supposed to be special screws for the EF mount?
Jeff... can you provide tests: will the lenses resolve 8K, can you provide a distortion chart test and, test if the lens markings are accurate throughout the zoom range?
I think it can be done, but it would be tough. Good thing is that with heavy lenses like this, along with a heavy v-mount battery and a monitor, etc, you’ll get fairly stable handheld footage without a gimbal. (As you may know.)
Im in the market for new lens and I had my eye on the DZOfilm 20-70 for my BMPCC until I noticed these. I do have a speed booster for my EF lenses. Should I spend the extra cash for or go ahead and purchase the 20-70?
I have a Tokina 11-16mmm wide angle T3. Parfocal as well, cheapest of the low end scale for PL super 35mm lenses. Both offer a 95mm front diameter but if you want a 114mm front end I'd go with Tokina.
Yea the 11-16 is an ultra wide, so if comparing 🍎 to 🍏 , Tokina have similar focal lengths to the Pictor. The Pictor will cover Gemini 5k’s image circle, the largest of S35 format not sure if the Tokina will. For ultra wide it’s par focal, but for 20-55 and 50-125 equivalent, it’s hard to be par focal, esp with an interchangeable mount. The thing is they use the same elements as the photo glasses, so I personally will not pay so much extra for a rehousing, the sigma is the same thing. Just my 2 cents not bashing on Tokina at all, they do have the best ultra wide for sure.
they are in different leagues. sigma has autofocus, and bigger aperture and lighter, pictor has more range, smooth and professional focus, iris and zoom throws with gears, better optics, pal focal, more aperture blades, swappable mounts etc, its much more professional designed for pro shoots.
@@JeffXiaoAn in the movie 22 jump street, there is a dude undercover called jeff. He says, "my name is jeff" very funny, its a total meme haha. Look it up:)
