I saw this on Amazon and had to try it. Its a battery operated fishing lure, that moves by itself. It looks amazing, but does it catch fish? I took it to the lake to find out.

A bass would hit this, but a bass would hit basically anything so that isn't saying much. It'd be cool if you could put this on a popping cork to catch some specks with it.

I've tried it several times on different lakes. I had a camera on the line to see how fish react. So far it has only scared fish away.

@GoMidwestFishing It looks pretty realistic in the water. I wonder why they're afraid of it? Maybe the noise? Maybe they sense electricity from the battery?

It’s actually kind of cool swimming upwards and I believe that it would probably get hooked and catch fish. I just don’t think it is going to last too long. Hopefully in time they’ll develop a more durable model. Thanks for sharing this!

It looks best swimming upward. It didn't last nearly as long as it said it does. I get maybe 20 minutes out of it. I've had some people tell me they have caught fish on it, but so far it has only scared fish away for me. It was a fun experiment though.

Yeah, pretty much what I expected. The sound is probably a success killer. Bluegill look at anything.

I'm about to go get myself with good technology so I can pull up the big fish! It's a VERY realistic appearing lure, looking forward to seeing if it will catch you some fish!

Thanks mate. Great underwater footage showing actions from both eyelets. Just picked up my 3 at PO today and going out to try tomorrow. But I will be short casting from a rocky harbour groyne. Good to see pros and cons. The electric noise? Hmm. But can def hear the ball bearing. Can’t wait. Can’t see any red light while charging though. May they come fully charged. Thankyou.

Good luck. I'd love to hear if you actually catch something. I also noticed that the red light comes on when its running in the water. I have yet to catch anything on it.

Best review video I saw. And: THIS LURE DOES NOT CATCH FISH. I think it is the sound. I bought 6 of them and caught nothing. I also took 3 apart and add a silicon twister tail. Like that the lure swims straight and no twisted lines. But still... caught nothing. It looks so good, but it catches nothing! Kind regards, Wouter Hesseling. Netherlands

It's meant to be tired on the front eyelet/hoop not the middle that's why it's tangling and not as realistic as it should be

It has two places to attach it. The front one makes it swim upwards. The back one makes it swim downwards. I tried both. I like the front attachment better. I had a camera on the line that was messing it up and caused it to get all tangled up. After a bunch of use, I couldn't get a fish to bite it. I saw several get scared away from it. It was fun while it lasted, but I don't plan on using it much more.

Exactly! I bought this expecting it not to work (I was right). I had some fun experimenting with it, and watching how fish react to it. If you actually want to catch fish, don't buy it. Thanks for the comment.

Exactly! It was a fun toy for a while, but I wouldn't expect to catch much with it. I put cameras underwater and watched the fish react to it. They were like, "what the heck is this thing."

I can say for a fact that it does. I was watching it on my underwater camera, and saw it spook the fish when it moved. I saw other fish swim right by it like it wasn't even there. I think its obvious to them that it isn't real.

@@GoMidwestFishing I have these lures without the motor but now I'm wondering, what if this was in noisey water, like with jetski & boat motors, swimmers, etc... It seems like that might mask or hide that electric motor sound. Have you tested under those circumstances yet?

I bought one of these from Amazon. I used it three times and the the propeller stopped working. A light flashes three times quickly and once slowly. It seems to be a code. I contacted the seller twice to ask what the code meant. I never received a response. I never caught anything, but that may not be the lures fault.

Hey Duane, After lots of use, I have determined that this lure does not catch fish. I've watched it in action with my underwater cameras. I have seen it either scare away the fish, or they just ignore it. It actually makes a lot of noise, which could be the problem. I had some fun with it, but I probably won't use it much.

I would definitely stick at it buddy, it's a really cool looking lure looks real in the water! Definitely thinking of giant Pike or Muskie is going to demolish it one day! I saw this video earlier, I just didn't have a chance to comment yet till now 🙂👊💪

It senses the water and automatically turns on when put in the water and shuts off when you take it out.

Any advice on how to rig it to avoid getting the line all tangled up? There has to be a way.

Tie your line to one end of a swivel and the end to the lure.

I find that connecting it to the back loop makes it swim downward and gets less tangles. Let me me know if you catch anything. I couldn't get a bite on it.
