This isn’t relevant to the video, but I wanted to ask just for information. I recently got my job, Client Systems Apprentice, but I put Cyber Systems Operations. My recruiter told me that Client Systems Apprentice falls under Cyber Systems Operations and I just wanted to ask you if that’s true. Thank you!

Client Systems falls under the cyber career field. However cyber system operations and client systems are different career fields.

You could potentially work in that career field as a client systems operator. Had a cyber systems friend work as the same job as me (client systems) until she was placed in another unit. Cross training is an option, you’ll be getting paid the same regardless and you real won’t be redirected by the bases available since everyone needs a client systems operator. I enlisted open electrical planning on requesting cyber systems operations and got client systems and I absolutely love it. I’ m a SSgt at a communication squadron, so I started just doing IT work as an airman and now I supervisor and work. I’d say give it a shot for a year and then cross train if you don’t like it.

How easy is it to go from enlisted to officer? Or not easy per se but the steps to do so. Yes, I know ROTC would be the better choice but I was not selected for field training during covid (smaller selection). And although I will try to go through OTS, I feel like I just have better chances with enlisting.
@strawkun8827

OTS is extremely competitive. A majority of officer positions are sufficiently filled by ROTC, making it basically impossible to get into OTS. It would be way easier to get into ROTC if you're planning on commissioning, but enlisting is also an option, although if you are prior service, then enlisting is basically impossible. This applies to active duty recruiting.

In the early 1990's I went enlisted active duty into the Air Force on a 4-year contract. I did three years and went Palace Chase. Place Chase allows you to leave active duty and go ROTC Air Force to get a commission. I still had a year left of my original contract, so I had to do double or 2 years in the Reserves. They still have Palace Chase available today. I was a crew chief on the C-5 out of Dover AFB Delaware. I went ROTC to the University of Delaware and did my reserve 1 weekend a month for a 2 year commitment at Dover AFB as a crew chief. Once I did my field training summer program in ROTC they transferred me to the officer program and I didn't have to do my enlisted reserve any longer. OTS can be very difficult to be accepted unless you have a special technical degree, or a Doctor, Lawer, Chaplin etc. Prior service does help with OTS application. Good luck.

Is there a reason a lot of these bonuses are going away by Sep 22nd 2022? I'm currently in the process of enlisting for active duty, but I will be waiting in DEP for a bit waiting on a job. I want to know, should I be looking for jobs with bonuses, or will there be a new set of jobs that need to be filled that will give bonuses. These are questions I will ask my recruiter at my next sit down date of course, but being a bit more prepared as I go in to talk about my jobs list and bonuses would be cool.
@strawkun8827
@strawkun8827 2 года назад
ANG and Active Duty have two radically different lifestyles. Are you looking for part time or full time? If you enlisting into active duty, a 3,000 dollar bonus really isn't much, judging you can make that amount in a couple months as E-1, or even faster if you sign a 6 year contract. Just to note, the quick ship bonus Active Duty Air Force is offering is around 8,000 dollars. Basically, it boils down to what you want to do. Don['t be too influenced by the bonuses.
@strawkun8827
@strawkun8827 2 года назад
The bonuses are likely ending around September 22 because that's around the time the FY2022 fiscal year ends.

@@strawkun8827 Sorry for such a late reply, I'm looking for full time. I've had an interest in jobs that require work experience, or a college degree. I don't want to burden my parents financially for a college degree, and I never did anything worthy of scholarship money. So getting work experience and being enrolled into the Air Force's community college would be a great fit for me. The bonuses are really just bonuses to me.
@strawkun8827

@@rainbleed8049 Based on what I'm hearing, active duty would be the best choice for you. Active Duty Air Force provides tuition assistance for you take courses at a college, without having to tap into your GI Bill. The CCAF (community college of the air force) does not have any courses. You usually get the degree by enrolling in an actual community college for either an associates or bachelors (tuition that is paid for the USAF). The CCAF awards the degree based on your completion of BMT and tech school, and the additional credit from the courses you took from the college you're attending. I recommend you talk to your Active Duty Recruiter about the Tuition Assistance, CCAF, and the GI Bill. If you're looking to ship out sooner, you can ask your recruiter about the quick ship bonus (8k). Overall though, I think active duty is what you want. Good luck.
