Airman Vision started back in 2012 when Kyle Gott was looking to join the Air Force. The channel was originally named Kyle Gott. From 2012 to 2019 Kyle documented his life and experience of a 6 year enlistment in the Air Force. In August of 2019 the channel was rebranded to Airman Vision to showcase a more broad concept of the Air Force. This channel will consist of the view of the Air Force from several Airmen's perspectives. Each video will be the view of a specific Airman who is currently serving or who has priorly served. This channel has grown to be more than just Kyle Gott and that is why he decided to rebrand. It isn't about Kyle Gott, it's about helping people join the Air Force and have the best experience possible.

Always give yourself maximum life options. It is wise to INCLUDE preparing a career whether you are or are not, because that way you don't burn any bridges. Excellent video!
Thanks for posting this! I felt like my recruiter was not doing a great job but this video really calmed me down after hearing your explanation. I feel like I'm constantly nagging my recruiter and they dont get back to me unless I text them at least 3 times. My process took 8 months and I feel like it could have been quicker but the finish line is near.

We have a similar story but a bit different. I even wanted to and tried to an ultrasound program at my local college just to have something. At this point, I’m 27 and was diagnosed with adhd a year ago and have three kids. I don’t think it’s in the cards for me anymore so I enjoy watching and listening to other people’s stories ❤
What job did you have in the AF? What would you say to someone who is prior service Marine who wants to go AF or Army and then eventually gain commission and retire?
Firefighter. It’s day camp for 20-something’s. Plus, you get the “hero-worship” of a first responder. You work a 24 on, 24 off schedule with one shift off every other week (you’re assigned the same day) which gives you a 3 day weekend. I never had to use my leave. We had no officers at the fire station as we’re pretty much enlisted/civilian run. We had no use for officers as they tend to get in the way. We were assigned to CE for our squadron needs and rarely saw any of our officers/first shirt. By the time I left the AF, our station had all the comforts of home: giant screen TVs, lazy boy recliners in the day room, semi-private sleeping quarters, a jacuzzi and sauna imported from Europe and so many other comforts it generated a sh!t storm of complaints. We were able to do all this as we’d been voted best fire department in SAC and they kindly dumped cash on us as a reward. Sadly, Castle AFB closed in ‘95(?) and the fire station was given to Merced County.
First mistake: You believed your recruiter! Not really, my Air Force recruiter was pretty straight up with me. He did try to push me into being a sky cop as I could enter earlier. Nah, I wanted to be a firefighter so I had to wait an extra 4 months before entering basic. It did make for a fun summer that year. I always tell people who ask if I flew when I was in the AF: “Only when they sent me somewhere.”
Air Force has the best of the best because they have the money in the manpower. Marine Corps gets the hammy down stuff they have to make do with what they have been there done that.
Hey Jake! Thanks for your great videos! I have a question: how long did your process take fully from day one when you submitted your pre qual forms to getting your approval from the board
As a female, I joined late 70’s and retired mid 2000’s after 30 years. I fully intend to only 4 years, because I was married, stay at home mum, and only want to attend school. Once in, I realized I enjoyed the way the service AF was like a family who took care of me and my family.
