#Facts...I had to learn the hard way after I installed some faux locs. My head was itching so bad after 2 days, and none if tutorials on RU-vid that I had watched mentioned soaking the hair in Apple cider vinegar. I was pissed. But at least I did my braids myself, so there was just time lost, but not money.

@@kishadivine I do everything with the braids before preparing my real hair, so the braids can dry in front of a box fan. I soak my hair in apple cidar vinegar, shampoo and conditioner the braids, put them in front of a fan to dry. By the time I'm done shampooing, conditioning, drying and braiding my real hair. The braids are normally dry by then.

Man, I HATE when I have JUST put in a crochet style and vowed to keep it in before trying something new. THEN you go and put up a bomb tutorial like THIS!! This is soooooooo lovely and natural looking. I will wait until you put up the follow up video. Cause you have just given me new hope about the gogo curl install. Ok so of course I've gotten bit by the crochet bug. I'm soaking the hair at this very moment but my question is how do you dry it? Put it under the hair dryer? Can I put it in the clothes dryer? Or does it have to be air dried? I'm letting it soak until 6 (8 hour soak) then what?

shawbeartm1 I usually let it air dry. I soak it for about 4 hours, then rinse and lay it on a towel on my table and dry over night. And absolutely DO NOT put it in the dryer! 😜✌🏽

Just subbed. I love that you teach how to prep and cleanse the hair and the importance of skin ph at the nape of your neck. I haven’t seen other RU-vidrs teach this and since I’m new to extensions, I want to do this right and be thorough. I just wanted to say Thank You!❤🙌🏾👏🏽 for showing the 1ST MOST IMPORTANT step on how to treat the hair before installing it. And because of that you now have a new subie🤗😁. Mousse can help tame the frizz. I use it when I do crochet braids with curly hair. Lovely video

Frizz is inevitable over time. Plus, mousse is only good in moderation, in the beginning, as after while... it leads to product build up or residue on synthetic hair because synthetic hair fibers don't absorb product. In using too much mousse, the hair can begin to retain an unpleasant or noticeable smell or even a sour smell (especially for those who are more active). There's a reason I titled this vacation hair lol 😌 I got y'all.

tastePINK, I use water in an old spray bottle on my synthetic hair to help with the frizz & use African Pride Braid Spray with Tea Tree & Peppermint Oil close to my roots. It makes my hair smell good & helps my hair grow. I use that shampoo & conditioner you used in the video on my synthetic hair but I knew nothing about the apple cider vinegar! I’m gonna start using that because I definitely want to do this look. You looked amazing. And your skin is flawless ❤️

You don't have to re-soak the hair overnight, but you want to immerse the hair in water (and ACV) for at least 10-15 minutes just to remove any excess chemicals. If you're pressed for time and don't want to re-soak the hair again, double the amount of shampoo and add 1/2 tbsp more of apple cider vinegar (ACV). I hope this helps!

This is beautiful. I would do this after a good wash day. Like with a good conditioning treatment and ricewater. Straighten with no heat of course then I would secure my hair with oil soaked rubber bands because I don't cornrow yet. I would install this and just oil my scalp with a bottle. I feel like this would grow my hair. Sis is out here changing the game....

I've never taken synthetic and washed it as you've shown. I tried this exactly and the hair matted within a week. I've used this hair before and it usually lasts me 6 weeks or more. I was very disappointed. But I love your styles and your youtube station.

I have this hair in now and love it!! Wish I could attach pics! I’ve been wearing crochet hair since 2020 and realized after going to new hair dresser, that the hair looks even better when hair strands isn’t split! The curls more defined unsplit. And don’t have to prewash hair, just put it in. Needs no product, lay them edges and u good to go. Night time routine is to put on head band to keep front of hair neat, large bonnet and go! Looks soooo good on you! I might need to do my own channel as much as I’m obsessed w crochet. Ladies crochet is the way to go! Leave dem wigs alone (only if u wanna try something new, that will protect your hair as it grows natural and long). I’m proof of that! There’s no down side to crochet that I’ve found so far

GoGo Curl is my go-to hair!! Long or cut in half it is the best that I've used *and I've tried them all*. I've never pre-treated it before (been using it for years and never had a problem, but don't care for the smell) so I'll try it next time to see what difference it makes. I bought the pink and mixed it with burgundy early this year and thought folks would lose their minds...everyone loved it, LOL. In June I put my hair in a sleek high ponytail, set it with gel, then used this hair to crochet a beautiful side bang, then used the rest full length at the crown all around my hair and then whipped it into a curly bun, the style was easy, cool, lasted 3 weeks with occasional gel touch ups to my hair to maintain that slick look, and was beautiful. Your ideas and techniques have definitely helped me to increase my slay!!!

I always soak my hair for braids at least 24 hours with apple cider or white vinegar to get all the chemical off the hair. I itch so bad if I dont I have to take the braids out. The chemical on the hair is why you itch so bad your head. Some time I soak the hair 2x n put a bubber band on the end to keep it in place. I put the hair over clothes hanger n hand up to dry overnight.

I did not trim this hair at all lol. It is super long. I would've shown that step because it would have been critical to the overall look. Synthetic hair decreases in volume over time, especially since I wore it in a ponytail or bun a lot, which is which I don't worry about volume in the initial stages. Also, I have a nighttime routine linked in the description where I share tips on twisting the hair in sections which will help with volume. Be sure to check it out. Hope this helps.

tastePINK I was wondering the same as @Capreshia as for what you did to tame it because it did not look as big as when you finished installing. It looked really big right after; however, on the shots afterwards, it didn’t look as big, which I love.

I can't believe I waited so long to get all my dead ends chopped off and do crochet braids. I've been using the L.O.C moisturizing method for about 3 years now, living in complete denial about the fact that I needed a cut, (not a trim) to get my hair healthy, and where I needed it to be. In a few days, I'm having my first crochet appointment, and believe it or not, I was totally prepared to spend $180 every 2 weeks to get it done...but after seeing all these "RU-vid Univercity" tutorials, after this first professional appointment, I'll be doing them myself. This is the EXACT color that I had in mind, but I just dyed my hair in a darker 1-B and I don't want to put another chemical on my hair so soon. I'm LOVING EVERYTHING about the concept of crochet hair and the time...I'm someone who used to wear micros FAITHFULLY...if I can sit for 8 hours, then I can do 2 hours standing on my head!
