I remember this gen started offering more luxed out M3's with automatics too, this looks like it has the sport package with the thinner buckets. The white/oyster grey interior with the little M division 3 color bars on the corners is my favorite part of the car, besides the manual and the straight 6 of course.
BTW, bring it back to stock. It's too low and it's not how it's supposed to look. As an investment, it would benefit from being brought back to OEM for sure. Even having the original intake -even if you keep the parts in storage and for now run the coldair intake- would just be the best way to go. Well done.
Hi Al, I'm jealous, you scored big time, great buy. I love the paint and it looked like it was pretty peppy. I would put the stock suspension on it but that's about it. I'd probably want to detail it a little better, but it looks like would clean up to almost new or mint. Have fun. 😀✌❤
Thats an awesome find Al to put in your collection, doesn't seem like it needs much at all now that pesky clutch is bled up! Hope you can get your covered storage sorted soon, to keep your collection in good condition 👍
Speaking of cars, I have not seen a 1988-1997 Olds Cutlass Supreme in years. I think they were the best of the W bodies except for the engine. While I like the Quad4, I think the car was a bit to heavy for it. The DOHC 3.4l was a pain in the butt to work on and the GM 60 Degree engines (2.8l,3.1l,3100, 3400) could not keep fluids in them. I cannot remember how many intake gaskets I did on these engines when I was working at the dealership in the early 2000's. Then there was the oil leaks from the capped off Dizzy hole. I don't know why the Cutlass could not have gotten the nice 3800 V6.
Hey Al...well you took the gamble and its a beauty, tho there is a saying that covers you __''He could fall into a bucket of sh*t and come up holding two gold watches....'' Shouts from London UK :D
What a beauty even tho I'm not a BMW enthusiast luv those 90s & early 2000s M3 series sorry to hear about previous owner dead from cancer but had nice guess almost classic sport's car.
I can tell you: It is a BMW. That means you will meet the check engine light or another random warning light very soon. Making this car work was almost to easy!
I doubt that there ever was a BMW of this vintage that never had massive cooling problems. I had my share of cooling problems with my lame E 46. Otherwise the older models of BMW were very reliable. Soon I will have to dump mine. It is to worn out. The only thing that is perfect still is the leather interior. I think the seats would have made another 150 000 miles without any problem. It is a cool car with a perfect color. Congratulation! If you were a flipper you could make an easy profit with that one. But could you ever replace it? I am sure you would regret selling this car very quickly.
Engine is fine stuck lifters from sitting for over a year. The ticking was gone by the end of the test drive in the video and hasn’t returned. The sellers put those rims in the back seat, not me, and I removed them soon after.
Al is the car buying master!! I didn't think you could find one as good as this for that money. Hopefully you'll have as much fun with it as the last owner did. Btw Al what happened to the Green E36?
Nice car Big Al, I have a HUGE question I have a 06 DTS performance my ac compressor went out, I have the part but what do I do with the rest of the ac stuff? Replace it or clean it out? Your the Northstar guy lol
The reason why these almost 30 year old BMWs are so cheap is because they are money pits that are worth just as little even after someone stupidly dumps thousands of dollars into them. BMWs are truly the worst vehicles in terms of value on the road.
Not my kind of car but it's in decent condition. I have a rule of never buying anything with any mods , no fancy intake pipes or any of that because they more then likely were driven hard. LOL
@@bigalsbikeandauto It looks like the same exact stock factory upgrade unit that was in mine.. Blaupunkt made the 6cd units for the e30,e36 & e34 and the e36/e34 had mutilple variations as factory upgrades from BMW..
