Fedor Holz, Daniel Negreanu, Ankush Mandavia, David Peters, Sean Winter, Keith Tilston, Nick Petrangelo and Kathy Lehne battle it out in a poker game for a $4,414,500 prize at the final table at World Poker Tour (WPT Alpha 8 Las Vegas).
What`s wrong with so many of the american reporters? One says "German-Austrian", the other one goes "Austrian". WHAT??? Fedor has not been Austrian for a single day in his life! He also does NOT own 2 passports. He has always been German, he just lived in Vienna/Austria for a while. Reporters made the same mistake with multiple Bracelet-Winner George Danzer. This is like saying Negreanu or Steffi Graf are Americans, just because they reside in Las Vegas. Or like every american soldier who is stationed overseas for 3 years......
So true. Some think that's not that important, but what if YOU would be on TV and reporters would call you being of a different nation again & again & again.
In 2015 Germany was largely anti-online gambling. (in 2021, new legislation was passed that changed that, somewhat) Fedor's "residing in" Austria is a fairly big deal for tax purposes, which is the reason for the funny distinction. I have to imagine the distinction was requested by Fedor, because being called German but not being taxed like a German could rub people the wrong way. A lot of poker players around this time, especially German ones, we're claiming residency in London to avoid being maximally taxed by their various governments. Also, Daniel Negreanu has American citizenship. So he is a Canadian-American. THAT BEING SAID, the commentary is very cringeworthy. Vince van Patton and Mike sexton were a legendary duo but their style trumps their analysis and aims to reach a broader audience, not nerdcore poker players. Hearing this analysis is so off putting when these days u have the likes of Tuck and Bart. Still it was a different time. Fedor and nick look soooo young and somehow Daniel's hairline is getting better with age,
@@PokerNightLive but if you’d written “ from 2015 “ myself and many others would’ve swerved it as ancient history mate “Clickbait” is the word your trying to avoid saying btw 🤷♂️ I’ll post updates from the 2020 US election but pass it off as this week .. same thing ain’t it ? 😳 👍🏴
@@user-ki7hp6ql3g so people can make an informed decision whether or not they want to watch it. ?!? If you wanna watch any poker video that comes your way, it's your choice. Don't make it mine!
Poker is such a sadistic enterprise. Like if you go through ALL the bulls#%t and navigate your way into position and then you patiently wait for the perfect situation and you get JJ all-in against 88 and 7 seconds later it all just gets flushed straight into the toilet and you’re out of the tournament AS IF YOU f#%ked up somehow, but you did not. But the guy who DID f%#k up is still getting to play with all of your chips. How is that reflecting any kind of skill? It’s the only game where the person who plays better than their opponent can lose. It’s like scoring 8 touchdowns but 5 just didn’t count and the other team had only 4 but they got to use them all. It’s stupid!!
You notice Daniel didn't want to put that amount of chips in with the 88 which tells you that guy with the JJ played it all wrong. People who play hands like that just drive me crazy because they end up losing most of their chips by having an A10 look them up or a smaller PAIR. Had he gone all in PREFLOP Daniel would have had his little talk and then folded.
If I turn a straight on a board like that I'm checking and letting that guy hang himself. Sometimes I don't understand. I know there's flush draws out there but sometimes you got to take a chance to get good value.
I wish Daniel wouldn’t always pick his face in his nose when he sits at the table. I’ve never seen him play a game game that he doesn’t pick something off his face.
1. old video, of Fedor was 22 at the time, it’s around 9-10 years old. Nice posting this now, without any indication of it, just misleading your audience… 2. The 55 vs K9 hand, the host said he didn’t like how he played the hand. I guess that’s why you’re commentating and he’s playing. That was a very particular spot, had the chip stacks been equally divided, he nicht have checked that turn K. But given the lead Fedor had and the stack sizes of the other 2 players, he decided to show his strength and take down the pot there, securing a 900k pot, bringing him back into 2nd by a margin.
Dear commentators. Stop bullshitting people- professionals, armatures… There is one definition- you got luck or you don’t. It’s 80 percent of the essence of this game. I remind a few years ago “ loose cannon “ literally destroyed all pros he had been playing against. Including Negreanu. Luck, luck and nothing but the luck.
@@davidgraham4807 That is correct. But that doesn't mean he's Austrian. Many German poker players (for whatever reason) live in Austria but have German citizenship. Except, what I didn't know, that when playing poker you declare the nationality in which country you live.
@@davidgraham4807 Taxes may be. But I don't think Austria is in a better tax position than Germany. The tax rate in Austria is quite high. But it could be, yes.
