I grew up the same way. Most times it was torture because my mom was a really bad cook for important stuff... like meat. She liked EVERYTHING well.. to overdone. I credit her for my cooking skills because I didn't want to suck. The only rule I changed with our 4 kids, is if you don't finish your dinner, don't ask for anything else. And if you don't like what I made, don't eat. This isn't Burger King, you can't have it your way.... and I'm not making anything else.

Mr. Wolfe, did you hear that celebrity chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Guy Fieri are about to have frozen food of theirs at Walmart? If so, I bet it’ll be worth a series of What Are We Eating videos if interested.
@jonbourgoin182
@jonbourgoin182 11 месяцев назад
I find it very hard believe that Gordon Ramsay would put his stamp of approval on ANY frozen food especially with his name on it. He literally calls out ANY use of frozen food on his shows. Guy Fieri is another story, I do believe that one.

YES! I saw those the other day. They look good. I tried the Guy Fieri lasagna with pepperoni and i was blown away. It was delicious, the pasta was very nice, the sauce and cheese were amazing and the meatballs/pieces had a nice texture. Even the pepperoni was good (though i think it was unnecessary). Im excited to try some other ones

Keep up the great videos, love them all. I too grew up with "eat what is put in front of you". I never had a problem with it as I liked almost everything. If you really wanted to start with the cheapest ones, the Dollar Tree carries them also. Also for those of you who say the kids should eat everything, they should at least try it and please listen to them if they say something is off. Until I was in my 40s I thought fish was supposed to make your mouth feel fuzzy. I was forced it eat it as a child and just avoided it once I moved out on my own. It turns out I'm allergic to it.

it can cause eating disorders, it is bad advice. i dont understand why you cant just put it in the fridge or give it to someone else at the table. funnily enough, you dont see anything wrong with it, but research it. and i dont mean spend 3 minutes on the first page of google reading the result descriptions.

this aint the same thing as putting a pile of food on their plate, but merely that they dont skip out on stuff that's good for them, and not waste food. if there's eating disorders it's due to nobody knowing what portion control means.@@RagingInsomniac

My kids didn't have to clean their plates, but they better taste everything before sticking their nose up,resulting in adults who love so many varieties of foods. I agree that kids should not get something different than you are cooking, eat it or go hungry!!

I agree with your point. Teach your children to eat what’s on the plate early. Don’t feed them junk all the time. That can be a once in awhile treat. So many of our sons friends didn’t know what a gravy biscuit was and asked for cereal and pop tarts. Soon they came for good food.

I agree with u wolfe. U definitely didn't say force ur child to eat. What u said was that when u were growing up, ur mom fixed dinner and that's wtf u ate. It wasn't any cooking of 2,3,4 meals. So the Karen's that have a problem with that "we the ppl" that does agree with wolfe says kick rocks. I was raised that way. If i didn't eat the meal that was cooked, now that I'm older I realize that was on me. It's not like I was starving or wasn't getting fed. That's what's wrong with this generation. Is they're spoiled brats and think they're privileged and know it alls. Each generation is getting worse and worse. I could keep going but i think that's enough if i made sense

When I was growing up, there was a simple equation: Don't like what was for dinner? Don't eat it! ...of course, growing up poor, that meant that YOU DIDN'T EAT AT ALL. There was a McDonalds down the street and we knew the manager, so my sister and I would sneak out of the house at night, and the manager would give us some leftovers when they closed for the night.

Yep, children are not meant to be self actualizing. They are not born intelligent enough to determine what they should eat or how they should behave. Too bad they have ignorant parents who allow them to be raised like jackasses in a corral. They grow up to be fat, lazy and DUMB...just look around. Parenting is a job and not an easy one. I raised two very successful boys... No sass and when we sat at the dinner table everyone ate some of everything served. They are also healthy with good eating habits...learned from the nightly dinner table. It is NOT PUNISHMENT OR ABUSE TO INSURE YOUR CHILD HAS PROPER NUTRITION. Way too many fat kids around who will have shortened lifespans because of ignorant parents. Diabetes is a plague now, and why do you suppose that is true?

I used to eat a lot of mozzarella sticks, various brands of the frozen ones. Sometimes brand choice depended on what was on sale. Problem: I’m on a low-carbohydrate diet that’s done wonders for my type 1 diabetes (I’ve had to have insulin daily for over 50 years). But the breading is too rich in starch and low-grade oil, and I can’t really have the sticks any more. Publix grocery stores here used to have the TGIF sticks (and some other frozen products) on buy-one-get-one-free sales a lot, and I used to buy a LOT. Always thought they were adequate. The included marinara was just a bit sweet, and between that and the breading they raised my blood sugar much more than I wanted. I miss the junk food!

I definitely agree in requiring the child to at least try everything on their plate, I was raised like that and our school backed it up, they didn't make you eat all of your spinach if it truly made you nauseous because people do have different tastes, but you had to at least try everything, and I think that's a good rule of thumb for Life generally, that you would have a very narrow boring existence if you only ate the first thing you liked, and never explored anything outside of your neighborhood or comfort zone. When I was a kid I thought miracle whip and mayonnaise was the same thing so of course the first time I had a real mayonnaise I almost spit it out, because it didn't taste as I expected but now I taste of change and I like both but definitely prefer Mayo on grown up food.. :)

Holy Moly, WE the People can’t even joke anymore, forget the art of sarcasm. Imagine if the other People had to endure Don Rickles or Rodney Dangerfield. Eeeeek I think they would fall down dead. Keep up the awesome videos and no editing commentary, We love a snicker and a teehee! ps.. I sat many an hour as a kid til the plate was finished.

The price of appetizers has gotten to ridiculous at restaurants I've noticed some places charge almost 10 dollars for mozzarella sticks.

Don't apologize for such a trivial thing my friend! Such an odd thing for people to get so upset over. Please keep up the great work! Ice been watching you for years and love your content :)

The attitude of a lot of people is why kids and young adults these days are frickin' monsters. Poor parenting is on display for all the world to see. So the hell with any Karens who unsubscribed for yesterday's video. I am subbing today!
