The Digital Vault is a good idea in concept, but as with everything digital, once you load your collection into it, what guarantees are there the information won't be sold to marketing companies? Also, what happens when the system gets hacked and your personal/watch information is stolen? Remember, if you're not paying for the service, you are the commodity being leveraged. Social media companies have taught us that.

Ya, I am not sure if they even have access to any info besides maybe your name and what watches you own cause I have heard they are using blockchain to encrypt the data, which data that is I am not sure or how secure it is again no clue, I think its a good idea but your right how else are they making money to support the site.

After the first and second World Wars, it was suggested that the soldier put their watches in a tub of oil to preserve it. That is why so many of them are still available today.

I've had my eye on the moon phase watch from Arnold & Son for a long time. They're out of my price range unfortunately. Kept an eye on the secondary market but they don't seem to drop in price much. Beautiful watch

Digital Watch Vault checked out and several of my watches are now on the database a very simple process and a great way to store your watch details electronically. Some watch brands already have this type of electronic storage system, I've got my Grand Seikos registered in a similar fashion with Grand Seiko. Great idea and well worth exploring and uploading your watch details to, thank you.

Urwerk has been a grail watch for me since I dove deeper into watches back in 2003. That rose gold Urwerk is stunning. Michael Jordan owns a few of those. They are way more interesting than RMs in my opinion. Also it surprises me that Michael did not know Ressence. They have been around for a while.

The Digital Watch Vault is a great idea! Even if you could buy a stolen watch for cheaper, if you were to sell it later the next person can check the vault and figure out it’s stolen even call the police. And criminals aren’t rich if they were they could just buy the watch like a real rich man would.

Digital vault is absolutely brilliant - i was mugged in southern Spain by three absolute vermin - stainless submariner ripped off my wrist breaking the bracelet in the process. I will register that one and the gmt master 2 i replaced it with and my sons yacht master ❤

Don't walk around with Rolexes in Europe. Unfortunately, immigrant gangs are targeting Rolex owners though of course this kind of crime is not limited to immigrants. But Europese has a huge immigration issue and the theft of Rolex watches is just an indication of that problem.

This is why you always have a beater watch to walk around with. When you go under the radar, you won't get a second glance. And if you do get mugged, it's no big deal to give em your beater.

Digtal watch world is actually very smart idea; im interested to see how itll take off & how the "secondary" market is going to handle this for the lack of a better word.. i think this is going to drastically drop the price of "iced out" aftermarket watches tho.

Christian van der Klaauw makes a watch called the real moon for over 10 years. It have also a round moon and a moon phase that deviates only 1 day in 11.000 years.

Michael; Enjoyed today’s video immensely. Nice to see Paul Thorpe, too. I still remember his story about being attacked and beaten for an AP watch. Never heard of that was solved, though. Urwerk is amazing! So innovative, really unbelievable and well-thought concepts. I think the prices are very reasonable for the amount of sophistication and complications that goes into such a time piece! Only downside are case size is usually huge. This brand is not suitable for the average collector, you end up at this brand when you’ve seen it all and you really want something special! Other brand that has similar characteristics as Urwerk as being from another planet is MB&F. Also such an amzing innovative brand with very cool concepts! Hope to see MB&F in your follow up video Michael!

yes in person they are huge but stunning and mesmerizing to look at. RMs are huge maybe even bigger than Urwerks. RMs and Urwerk came out at the same time more or less but RM caught on more because of rappers first, then athletes started wearing RM and the rest is history.
