Every time I watch an episode showcasing the Shannon line of boats my faith is renewed that quality in boat building still exists. The Captain , still sharp as a port tack, would still show a man or woman that age is just a number and could easily cross the pond . I'm 75 and I'm looking for just the right craft to do that. Thanks Captain Q for your expertise and valued opinions.
Ahoy mateys another great video . I've been thinking of getting a boat but thought I was too old,but now I heard that this boat was sailed across the Atlantic and back by a seventy four year old you have given me new hope. Cheers.
This little ship is like a made to measure Savile Row suit. Fits like a glove and tells you all you need to know about the wearer. She's on the small side for me, but I couldn't not watch. Every episode is a joy and your enjoyment is infectious gentlemen :)
The monitor also has the capability to be an emergency rudder (if you buy the attachment) just in case you lose the rudder altogether. That boat is setup for bluewater for sure. Very nice boat for singlehanding. As always a great job guys.
If the is something worth knowing about a sailboat or ship builder , Captain Q is aware of it. Mind blown once again. This is a boat for a solo sailor and globe trotter for sure. Great vid as usual. Thanks guys.
Shannon's have always been on of the best built and sailing boats. This one even comes with a can of DM and bubblies. I think you just sold this one Captain.
This seems to be a very well thought out built boat. It looks like the best boat for the price range I have seen on your show. Captain Q, perhaps you should plug the Obedience School that Sea Dog graduated from, she is so well behaved. Maybe some day a rich viewer will buy Sea Dog some sunglasses or sun goggles. Very much enjoyed the video You, Randy, and Sea Dog made. Thanks. 👏👍🙏😎✌️
What a lovely design. Lovely beam. A little beamy but solid and lots of room. A boat built for comfort and security. Thank you for the construction details and the back up shrouds. Brilliant design with sliding cleats. Outstanding package. Oh what ever am I to do with such a tempting boat. Come and sail with me is what I hear.
The last boat video you showed, that was top! This one, if my house sold to day, I'd fly up to Maine, and buy this one. Just my size and all the right stuff! Thank you! ⛵⚓
The clips you guys add in like the gymnast tumbling and the diver diving is great!! Tasteful comedy, besides Q's dry humor, is perfect for these videos. Walt Schultz? His brother Charles is peanuts!
Thoroughly enjoyed this segment. Captain Q, I always enjoy your critique. Ran-day, I love the videography. The special touches and effects- they are awesome. The drone shots I love! A little humor, some education of sailing and buying a sailboat, some Dinty More and Freixenet. It just does not get any better than that. I don't think I have ever looked forward to a TV show or TV/RU-vid segment with such enthusiasm since Alf in the late 1980's!
G'day Captain and Ran-day, This yacht is just brilliant, ready to hit the waves by the looks of her, plot a course and hoist the main..Love this Yacht, love you guy's.
Great review Captain Q , you definitely know you stuff . It’s always a lesson in sailing for watching your vids. That certainly seems like a very nice boat and well built . Keep em coming 👍👍
Always something new to learn in Captain Q's videos. And this boat is VERY nice. Thanks for pointing out the build features that make this one of the best boats.
As a wanna b sailor, I very much enjoy watching your critque of boats. I do learn things. Since i live on the coast in Florida, I may well buy a boat. Thanks to you both. This Shannon is looking very stout. The picture is my sisters "sea dog"!
I am so glad you reviewed a Shannon. I really, really appreciate Shannon's! It might be nice if you could review American made SV when available maybe as a "mini-series"; Tartans, IPY, Morris, Marlow-Hunter, Catalina, Hinckley, more Shannon's, etc? Weekly look forward to Thursday CQ shows!
"What's the difference between a 'breast line' and a 'spring line?'" Well, "In the _Spring_ a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of..." Your "sail ties" are what we call "gaskets." Really nice boat. It's got all the "take it anywhere" stuff for a solo sailor or a couple that really gets along well. Nice demo.
Very nice...guess it would make it to the Netherlands don't think I would...thanks for the look sea...I am learning every episode thanks to you 2....and Sea Dog....
Another awesome video! Your videos have motivated me to rejoin my sailing club. Victory sloops, Pearson Ensigns and they used to have a Pearson Commander. Thanks again for the videos. How about a Bristol Channel cutter in the future?
Looked at a Shannon 28 at ferry point marina outside of Cambridge Maryland. Guy was asking something around 10k but he'd pulled all the deck hardware to reseat and life got in the way. Might still be there. Nice boat but very dark below deck. Nice feature to not have to sniff the head bag while sleeping in the v.
was there something off the starboard side?...Sea Dog briefly dons a C-(canine) 95 mask! Also, hmm sometimes the Q caps seem different? Thanks for featuring this beautiful boat and great story!
Go as small as you dare, I always say. All costs go up by the power of 3 in boat size, and nm traveled go down with the same ratio. Living on my 41ft steel ketch, I hardly leave the dock.
@@YachtHunters Yes sir , but it always best to check the bloogs and even there may be a hizzard in the way it is best to have peace of mind.... and while you are in there might as well replace the grumbo whether it needs it or not.... Good lord knows we don't need a blamph blowing out on trans Atlantic crossing...
Captan Q I wanted to ask you what do you thing of sail boats made of concrete special mixture nd steel rods nd mesh wire? Are they water sound or one heck of concrete in chains?lol for real ???
