Use smaller sections and wait about 1 min and a half on each section. Use the highest heat and highest tension. Use a silkening serum before using the Revair. I use mine every wash day!
If the Revair was in our lives as kids our natural hair would have been healthier without the need to rake it with comb, harsh brushes, harsh heat tools and last but not the least…deal with ever putting a relaxer/perm on our heads. Would have been a real deal breaker for our mother and grandmothers too. Especially for those that didn’t have the time nor education with dealing with natural hair.
I have the first one... spent a lot of money for it... I can't justify purchasing the newer one... its interesting to hear you describe that this new one is heavy the base and wand part. I guess the only difference is the newer one is just a little smaller. Either way, I am still and will always be amazed at how quick it is to dry my hair. I will never be mad at that. Today for old time sakes, I washed my hair, threw them in twist and actually let it air dry... it felt so original... revair definitely got me super spoiled!! Your hair is beautiful!
Yeah there's not enough difference to justify me buying this new one. I'll keep using the original until it breaks down. I do the same with cell phones and cars.
Most of the people that only used the new one says it’s heavy but they never felt how heavy th the other one was. But ppl who had the old one and new one says it’s a difference with weight and sound. I think I would get one if the bundle goes down to 350
@@teylenjaree Do you need the bundle...the clips, spray bottle, etc? Personally speaking I did not but brought the nozzle stand instead. If you don't need the bundle you can even just purchase the unit. All the best, either way it has help me so much.
Spraying water on hair immediately before you put it in will make a huge difference. Spraying water with some leave in it and high tension and heat will have you hair damn looking like a blow dry
If you ever go to the salon, you don't have to anymore. I was paying $140 for a silk press, because of the length and thickness of my hair + a deep conditioner. If I use this 3 times it pays for itself. I regret not getting it sooner. It's so gentle on your hair.
Great video! I hope you use this tool again and give us an updated opinion later. I have the Gen 1 version and I LOVE it! It's not light but I personally don't feel it's all that heavy. I use high heat & tension level 10. If I do very small sections I get silky results but it takes longer than my current method: I first dry with the Revair in medium sections then switch to the Dyson with the comb attachment. The Dyson gets the roots and silks out the lengths. I know that's a very expensive blowout but the results are perfect! Also I like Color Wow Dream Coat and Pop & Lock for blowouts - the results are super light, almost naked feeling hair. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been thinking about doing a traditional Bowie l blowout after using the RevAir. I’ve never done it before but the RevAir just doesn’t get hair straight enough to press or wear as a silky blowout.
Your hair looks amazing!!! So healthy and full. This product looks gentile on the hair. Five minutes to blow dry that section was fabulous! Your final style is so pretty.
I own the first version of the Revair dryer and I love it for every wash day. It's worth the money and the investment. I will buy the new Revair because it's smaller easier to travel with.
Gorgeous! Looks like they just made the case smaller, lol. My hair is fine as well and I do like 8 to 10 sections, about a minute each section on the highest heat and tension. I do a downward smoothing motion on my roots which gets them pretty straight. Overall, I love the breakage free results I get and I got prollems so I will be looking for a sale come the end of the month so I can get me this one too! Thank you so much for sharing.❤❤❤
@@Chin715 I insert my detangled hair into the wand and then use the wand to sort of massage my roots in a downward then left/right motion….I don’t “pump” the wand….I leave the wand pressed to my roots and just smooth it around…..hard to explain….watch Simply Tamika here on YT. She has quite a few tutorials which I found very helpful in mastering this unit.
Welcome to the Revair family, sis! I have the even bigger one. May be about same weight, since same motor causing the weight. I love the way you styled it afterward. I'll definitely give that a try on my next blowout. Thanks for the tip on the overnight too. Btw, I've found the ideal combo for my ends is fan only at 4 and high heat. Give it a try on a section next time and see. The ends tangle on our hair with higher fan speed.
Smaller sections and try different leave in for heat protectant. You might be using too many products. My hair comes out silky and shiny. I use Chi as a heat protectant.
I'm so upset I haven't gotten my Melanin deep conditioner yet! I bought it off her website as soon as she introduced it. Now everyone is telling me to go to Ulta. I believe if I purchased it though her website, I should be able to get it that way.
I love this machine. It took me a little while to figure it out with my daughters who have a ton of hair. It was worth it. It is harder for me to use on myself.
I love my revair. It saves my strands!! I get length retention for sure. I use to think I needed the highest setting but I don’t. I use 4. My roots get straight. I sit the nozzle on my head and move it back and forth. I have type 4 hair too.
They have a sale now at $359 but that's not all that great either. What I wish they would do would allow discounts on top of the sale price so that we can utilize any 10% discount that a RU-vidr may have gotten for us.
I'm going to buy this thing. They don't even sell it in my country. The shipping will be expensive, but I feel like it's the only way I can get a good silk press.
it's not!! i silkpress my hair biweekly and a regular blowdryer and a paddle brush gives me a far superior silk press. The revair is nice, but because you're not constantly detangling your hair while you use it, the silk press results can look a little stiff. That and the way it leaves your roots kinky means your finished product will look like you've sweat your silkpress out at the roots OR you'll have to go over it 2-3 times with the iron which isn't idea. If your blowdryer has variable speeds and variable temperatures and your paddle brush has some kind of head conductivity (like ceramic) on the base it'll work wayyyy better than the revair for silkpressing. The revair is great for low-heat, textured styles, though.
Really want to buy one but they've closed their UK site during the pandemic,so disappointing. The only way to get one now is through ppl reselling via Ebay or fb marketplace
I Love your hair color. what color is the lighter part and your hair is too pretty. I have the older RevAir and its much bigger but gets it straight for me at 7 and high heat.
This is my first time ever watching this person and her video and I must respond to it. First of all I watch a whole lot of videos on youtube when it comes to black woman doing their hair. I really do not care for the way a whole lot of these woman produce their videos especially their character and personality. But this person I do not know her name I actually love her video I love her honesty and the way she talks is very impressing to me. I will watch her more and I would love to know how in the world did she get that thick long beautiful hair was she just born with long hair or did she do something to make her hair this thick, long and beautiful. Anyway keep up the good work and by all means keep your lovely attitude your videos will go a long long way. Thank you
They were running a trade in program when this new one was first released. I kept getting the emails for it but there's not enough difference foe me to justify buying another. I think you got $100 off if you traded in the old one.
Love this! I’m going to try this style I have the Dyson and still can’t get my ends straight they most of the time feel a lil brittle when blow dried. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks
It might mean you need a trim or the hair products doesn’t keep the hair smooth because I have both the Dyson and Revair and my ends never feel brittle 💯
@@curlynella1011 yeah I may trim next time to see if it makes a difference. By chance, do you use a separate tools when blow drying with Dyson or it’s comb attachment?
@@angel_arabella I do use the Dyson comb attachment. I hold my hair with one hand for tension and run the comb attachment through the roots and mid shaft and then make it down to my ends. I can get it just as flat as the Revair now. It doesn’t take long either.
I’m wondering what the purpose is. I have short hair and a Dyson hair dryer. I bought this to see the magic for myself. I don’t see the magic and feel Dyson does a better job. But maybe this is better for the hair?
I have the previous version....just collecting dust now....that was a total waste of money! Do not care for it, the wand broke after a few months and had to get replaced. Also dries out my hair ☹ Your hairstyle came out very nice, will have to try that, thanks!
Talk to ReVair. You may be able to get a replacement wand for free. Lord knows you paid for it already. I received a replacement hose and wand at no cost.
@@Ssk7h3fZk thank you. Yes I did receive a replacement but I don't use it anymore because of a number of reasons....dries out my hair, can't use anything with oils in my hair before using it (basically everything), according to them....too bulky, etc. Etc....just not worth the trouble.
@@megn2003 I hated mine at first as well! I used it twice then neglected it for a year and a half. I revisited it about 7 months ago and found that now I love it. 1) I use it with leave-in only, very light to no heat protectant and on low heat setting. 2) I towel dry overnight before using. 3) i use a comb to take it out the wand and for some reason that helps the ends blow straighter. With that change my hair is shiny and feels moisturized. SIMPLY TAMIKA is a RU-vidr I got these and more tips from. Maybe it might work for you too!
It's lasts just like a regular blowout. I was able to get 2 weeks of wear. I know I could have gone longer but I was going for a different look. I have the original and I use it anytime I need to blow dry my hair.
Does anyone in here own a revair air and live outside of Canada and USA? I'm in Japan and desperately need it but because of the concern for voltage compatability, I am hesitant to get someone to order it for me. Help!!!!
The original, the base was heavier and larger. I hope they put the on and off button in the front with the next generation as well as find a way to make it quieter, smaller, and the wand lighter 😂
Unpopular opinion: If something is too expensive don't buy it. Companies set prices and we are free to purchase or not. To me it's ridiculous to complain about pricing after someone purchases a product.
Why is RevAir leaving the UK in the cold. I really want to buy the RevvAir but it doesn’t work in the UK or with a transformer. What we in the UK don’t want nice hair too. Also, the price is well overpriced once again taking advantage of the fact black women don’t have a long term history of companies researching and caring for black hair as hair. So co panties take advantage that black women will do pretty much to help their own hair flourish. So hopefullly, the price won’t get any higher otherwise the CEO needs to develop a conscience and not just think about their own pocket. Therefore invest in making the RevAir lighter. If Dyson can do it, why can’t RevAir? Your hair is lovely and RevAir is worth it even though expensive and cumbersome.😊
I would never buy any of the products that most of these RU-vid influencers post about. I’m not buying the latest celebrity product nor these over priced dryers and other products. I click the video watch a few minutes tap like and move on
Did you determine that you hated it during the period of time you had to return it? If it's still fairly new you might be able to return it to the company. Exactly why do you hate it, did I miss that part?
