I used my revair for years, and the best method to not tie your arms is to start at your crown and work your way down. Also, turn up the suction on the body of the machine so you don't have to use as much heat for as long, finish off with no heat/cool suction to lock your cuticles, and don't leave the suction around your edges/ sensitive areas for too long. It won't cause breakage but it can become a little sore if your aren't careful. Your hair looks amazing and one you get used to the machine it'll be your new bff. Took me from 6+ hr hair days to 2 hours or less from wash to detangling and deep conditioner to end of drying process. My hair is now almost 24 inches, but I went from 14in to 22 during my time using this machine.

Here’s a lil help from one 4c girly to the next do heat setting 1 on suction 7 and its way less heat and will come out better(instead of coming out stiff ) … also pre section and detangle then twist it up and un-twist as you go and use heat protectant (I like the chi heat protectant) btw yes I have the new one and it works great for me since I never learned how to blow dry my hair the old school way ig 😂❤️

@@consciouscrypto3090 the amount of sections really just depends on how much hair you have on your head and the thickness of it. I think the best way to explain would be by putting it in sections as if you were installing curlformers. If it’s too much to fit inside of a curlformer, then it’s too much.

I have the old version and there is definitely a Learning curve. But I’m able to dry my hair in less than 20 minutes with this thing! Any other blow dryer, like the Revlon takes about 45 minutes. I have very thick, mid back length hair. I also love how my hair does not feel piping hot when I use it. I’m hoping that means less chance for damage. 😅 I would say experiment with how big your sections are. The machine can probably handle more than you might think.

I’m retired, and did my big chop back in 2018 after years of relaxers so glad I did it. I finally find the right balance of product, tool and routine for my hair care but it was still quite time consuming and as of late been dealing with some health concerns. Without going into details, my circumstances made me decide it was time to take a closer look at the Rev Air and for me, I think this would be totally worth it. I use a timer on my phone (60 sec)for each section for consistency. For my 4a hair that is also fine but thick like yours my perfect setting is 5 on high heat . Just make sure to use heat protection. Add heat protectant, section, section again and blow dry in 1-3 inch sections depending on density. You have should go with 1 -2 inch and make sure you are on heat and not cool. And turn the section up to 8. You will get better. My hair is down my back and it beats that brush dryer any day for me.

No other dryer is easier to use or can provide less risk of breakage on kinky coily hair. Holding the wand is way easier than the constant back and forth motion of using a blow dryer + paddle/bristle brush or blow dryer with a comb attachment. 😐 I’ve had mine almost 4 years. Used every other week for 3 of those 4 years. Highest heat. Highest tension. 10 sections. Dry the section for 15 secs. Take out and detangle with my kazmaleje brush. Reinsert the section for 30-45 seconds. Cool shot for 5 secs. I can do my whole head in 20mins. Helps with length retention as it helps reduce breakage and single strand knots that lead to breakage 😊 Oh yeah ETA: ZERO heat damage even with combining it with silk presses. Between Feb 2021 and Jan 2022 I clipped my ends every month until I got a 3-4in cut in Jan. Hair Started at arm pit length. Total of 12 inches of hair cut in that time frame. I Started using better quality products with light protein and noticed how much healthier my hair was growing in so I wanted to slowly cut the old hair off. My hair is now at Bra Strap length and I’m almost 6ft tall.

I really wanna try this out on my thick type 4 hair, bc shrinkage is REAL and I’d love to try blowing out my hair for protective styles to get more stretch. This is also apparently great for stretching wash and gos too!! So girl if you don’t want it I can take it lol

I have a suggestion, something which works for me when I am doing twists and my arms get tired. Try using this device while seated at a desk or table. That way, you can rest your elbow on the surface and tip your head to use the RevAir . The top of your head would be easier, especially. The back could be reached mostly by resting the red hair against your neck and shoulder, almost like you’re cuddling a snake end it wants to kiss your hair. It might be a bit more awkward than using a desk, but, if you sit on the chair and rest your forearms on your knee, you could have your hair flip forward and let it fall into the RevAir. HTH Edit: I just had a goofy idea which seems sound the more I think of it. If you have a crutch, you could bungee cord the business end of the RevAir to the top horizontal remember. I always call it the Twinkie. Anyway, securely attaching it with no wiggle would be wise, since it would be tough to return if you try to explain how you injured it. Anyway, the crutch could support the weight and you could sit in a chair and maneuver the dryer, mostly by leaning into it or leaning towards yourself. The caveat would be making sure the foot of the crutch is set against a heavy, and moving object, like the wall or a heavy piece of furniture. Try it seated and standing, since crutches and star puppies vary in height. I wouldn’t recommend relying on zip ties, since I find they fail when we’ll wait and torque come into play. Nothing against duct tape Other than residue.

This is 100000% worth it for me. I have 4c coils and the blow drying process hurts my arms and my scalp cuz my hair will forever tangle no matter how much I trim or even full on cut it and it leaves me with headaches after messing with my hair too much

Ive had mine for about 4 years. Recently restarted my natural journey and it took 5 months before my hair was long enough to use it again. Absolutely love it. I'm now considering locing my hair so today might be the last time i use it but it was definitely worth it.

You can still use it to dry your locs after they mature. They’re not supposed to stay wet after you wash them because they hold on to water longer than loose hair.

Suggestion. For me the RevAir works better when I allow my hair to air dry in 4 braids a little. For my daughter she can go from soaking wet to almost straight. I also avoid any leave in products with glycerin or humectants.

Wish I had this as a kid. Would’ve saved me all the pain n suffering under my mother’s hands when she did my hair, I would be crying all night for the neighbors to hear. Left me with a tender head and scabs from burns of the infamous hot iron comb.

I can’t believe how badly I wanted a relaxer to avoid the hot comb.. just sad.. but happy we are in this day and age where we are learning the negative health effects of relaxers and how to properly care for our beautiful hair. Man I didn’t even know what my natural hair really looked like until I was in my twenties but my daughters have the opposite experience, and that’s progress 🙌🏽

I actually like the process of this and I have the older, larger one😂 guess it depends on the person🤷🏾‍♀️ this is much easier than a traditional blow dryer with/without a comb attachment. And I feel like the decreased chance of breakage from a brush or comb is worth the money and arm work for me.

Have you tried micro or smaller twists that you do yourself on blown out hair? It's been great for me, just need some leave-in conditioner and oil and you could twist your hair as it now, it lasts me maybe 5-7 weeks with some maintenance in between. Wash n go's never worked for me, gel would always flake and be itchy on my scalp. I thank the smaller twists for being sustainable and also length retaining ( they drop down nicely with the products mentioned).

I bought one to use on my daughter’s hair. It’s easier to use on them but it is very bulky. I store it in a closet and it’s annoying pulling it out but it does cut down on drying time. I do have to still use a traditional dryer with a comb to get their 4B & 4C hair straighter but this does cut down on the drying time and passes with high heat on the regular dryer.
