SO, you being a teacher which set you think might be good to start with about a $500 budget; or, I want a yamaha dtx532k but kind of holding back... Thanks
If you want and are somewhat close to affording the Yamaha, do that. It's a kit you can grow into for sure if you're new. This Donner kit is great for a beginner who has limited funds. If you know what a dtx532 is, you're probably ready for it. Look for 48 month financing options to help you out.
For the money, you can’t beat it. The pars themselves are great. I actually bought a lot of extra pads to replace the pads of different kits at my school. The brain is meh but works well enough to get started. If you can swing a basic Yamaha or Roland, it will be better as far as sounds but again, these heads are great.
