@@cayleyelaine Because you are pushing a narrative of "look at all the money you can make" if you do what I'm doing without sharing all of the details. I don't "need" to know your net profit but to comment that you won't share any of your overhead costs hints at being less than transparent when pushing a business model. JMO

@John Doe it's about sharing what brands/styles are actually selling. I'm very clear on my channel that I don't think one business model will work for everyone. I think people should figure out what works for them and take a look at their own numbers. JMO.

@@cayleyelaine Cool! We have some awesome thrifting spots here. I live 10 minutes from the bins but we actually have three locations. As far as the regular Goodwills, the ones on the north side are the best - Carmel/Fishers/Zionsville/Noblesville areas.

I usually put all unisex in mens. As far as category, I usually go with whatever ebay recommends first. It's usually the sports one.

Factor stacking is finding multiple valuable factors in one item. Increasing the likelihood of a sale. For instance, a j crew cotton sweater isn't as valuable as a j crew cashmere sweater in a larger size.

We don't sell on Etsy anymore. I went with the comps on ebay and posh. Good to know for next time.

Hello! I'm working on sprinkling some youtube stuff in for 2023. I don't think hardly any of my sales are from watchers of my channel. At most, I usually get a sale once every couple of months where a viewer has purchased from me.

Jack & Ryan get lots of sales from viewers, and turn it into a fun thing on their What Sold videos. This must encourage even more viewer sales. Their presentation is a little different! Undoubtedly, the "$5'799 Sales in One Week" thing makes me feel like a lazy loser. Still, I feel compelled to watch, and I learn a great deal - brands to look for.

@Jari Hazard I like their channel! And yes, they do get a lot of viewer sales, probably more than I've seen on any reselling channel. My goal is not to get viewer sales but I would be more than happy to have more. ☺️

Correct. I do buy it now and just send offers to watchers. I do put best offer on older items I'm trying to move though.

Hey! If you already list on Ebay then crossposting to Poshmark will be a breeze!! Ebay requires so many details and Poshmark doesn't so when you crosspost you've pretty much already done the work. I use a crossposting tool called List Perfectly that moves my listings over for me. Below is a video on what it looks like to go straight from Ebay to Poshmark. True! Yes, we have a draft bank. It's too much to explain on here but essentially we got a week ahead of listings and schedule our draft bank ahead of time. We do not let them sit in drafts. It's hard to say how many each day or week because we keep changing our goal but I'd say we are usually usually 1-2 weeks ahead. Meaning we have a draft bank done of about a weeks worth of items. I think the quicker you can offer the better! But you also don't want to set the handling time if you can't ship out when you say. Your account will get dinged!

I don’t think many buyers actually look at it or factor it in their decision to buy. Just judging from my experience from selling part time while also travelling for my day job, so having 5 day handling on my account (I almost always ship within 2 days but want to be safe), Maybe it would affect whether a buyer comes back, but yeah it doesn’t seem to deter people for me

35 brand new items every DAY

On closet clear out days, if you drop your prices by 10% the buyer gets a notification of the dropped price + Poshmark will give them discounted (not free) shipping. Poshmark pays the difference on that day only.

@Cayley Elaine I dropped the prices 10% and then it made me choose discounted shipping. Then someone bundled 2 items that weighed almost 8 pounds and Posh charged me $13.50 extra shipping. Not sure I like customers getting me charged extra...is there a setting I missed so I can stop this?

@@dirtisbetterthandiamonds dropping prices is editing the price. It sounds like you were sending offers if it made you select discounted shipping.

We would like to get to 1M in revenue per year. Not quite sure what that looks like yet.

Yes! I started reselling just as a side gig while I worked my full time job. If you would've asked me back then if I could see myself here today, I'd say no way! Lol

You're assuming you know what my expenses are. Where I live, minimum wage is very low. I pay higher than that but my baseline is very, very different than someone living in let's say, California. Leasing a commercial space is also significantly cheaper where I run my business out of. You're right though, if you choose to hire, have an office, etc it greatly eats into your profits until those investments start to pay off. That's why I recommend waiting as long as possible to bring on these expenses. I'm still making profit for myself and I know every investment into my business I make will bring me more growth. Unfortunately expenses are necessary to get to the next level. Please don't take this as arguing with you, just wanted to provide some insight since you posed the statement.

Even if an item is real, if someone flags it ebay will ask you to provide proof that you bought it from an authorized dealer. Since goodwill is not an authorized dealer they will consider it inauthentic because you can't prove it with receipts.

@@cayleyelaine Gotcha. That's super annoying, especially considering that eBay knows many items are bought & resold.
