I just use the Kings 24AH power pack and the Kings 4mt light strips, dimmer and Velcro strips. Works brilliant without the hassle.

Yeah i got the power pack also but i want usb's at the head end as the power back will be down near my feet

I would have made the Power distribution box with an Anderson plug inlet and placed the USD charger, cig plugs and Anderson plug outlets, that way you can use the box in in the vehicle as well to power items such as a 12 volt shower. Having the box as a complete modular unit makes it transportable between different vehicles. Also a yellow LED keeps the bugs away.

I just drilled a hole in the bottom of my tent. With a junction box on each end it was easy to hard wire a 3x 12v socket outlet with two USBs

Hi, I drilled a small hole in the rear wall of my canopy and also in the floor of my RTT and ran cable. I wired to my isolation switches in canopy and to cigie holder in RTT. Have a look at my setup videos Cheers Out There Touring

Nice video. And surely very helpful for many viewers. I plan to install some leashes with magnets to the top of the tent roof. So it will be easy to hang and power an old tablet to view some movies. And also like to have a workshop led light which I can use outside during the evening and charge inside during the night. Some also serve as an emergency light. And to avoid the hassle of connecting the USB micro connectors(always wrong side round) I will use magnet USB connectors.

Awesome video, found it while searching for ideas on how to run power to my RTT. Excellent ideas. Though I don't have a 12v control box. I have a Dometic PLB40 battery.

@@ottouring shortly after posting the question, I had Main Line Overland set up a 100ah LiFePO4 battey with lots of power management, all hidden under my Goose Gear full platform in my 2021 JLUR.

The power distribution box is large and cumbersome and I would 100% destroy those wires taking up my valuable foot space. Instead get some XT60 connectors and run a 3 or 4 way y lead setup instead of the distribution block. This can be fused individually and run under the mattress for a tidier and safer install. You can then add more/different items as needed and with separate fusing if one blows they all wont blow like your current setup.

Id have tried to have the dimmer somewhere closer, maybe ran straight down the pole to the corner, so you can get to it while laying down. Otherwise, an excellent setup.

My first generation aluminium roof top tent has had the inner roof lining coming off.. do you guys repair this, as it was a fault from factory? Im not really happy to be honest. Thanks

Cahn mate this ain’t quick and/or easy… Kings could do a plug and play loom as probably 100% of rtt owners will want power to their rtt. Give the people what they want 😉…
