I thought this was interesting and picked one up today. Noticed it can receive Allen keys smaller than 1/8" by turning the short end towards the tightening mechanism. There's a small groove on top of the wedge to hold the key.
The craftsman lifetime warranty is useless. If they stop making that exact item your warranty is void, if it’s an older USA made tool it’s luck of the draw as far as the associate that waits on you, if it’s an older sears product like a torque wrench I have they tell you you’re sol. So I’ll never buy another craftsman product.
quite a complex thing to machine, would probably be 50-100€ in sale... so nobody would buy it ABS reinforced with Glass fiber is normally quite enough for such kind of applications
@@DrEsSlA1996 I'd be fine paying that much honestly, but probably not much of a market when the same $50+ will buy you a nice set of dedicated t handle wrenches.
I was going to buy a new set with handles then I was poking around Lowes and found this handle. These should be great for bicycle work and furniture assembly. I bought one- To me from me!
I have a Craftsman L handle Hex set where the holder for the set functions as a T-handle converter. It's all plastic as well, and lasted for about a single use. I needed the T-handle to generate Torque, but the plastic deformed quickly and the tool failed. Still a decent ball end hex set, but I'm skeptical about a similar product from Craftsman made of plastic.
My wife keeps telling me, I don’t know what to buy you for Christmas…I keep sending a link to your channel Doc…let’s hope she sees this… love the Allen tool. Thanks and Merry Christmas…
You can just slip the box end of a wrench over the short side of the allen to get leverage instead, but this might be nice if you aren't working out a bag with limited space.
Other viewers, have any of you who have actually owned and used a plastic coated Wera or PB Swiss hex wrench set run into any real problems because of the added thickness? I think a lot of us are curious about this! Please reply with your experience:
I can only speak from the Wera with the sleeves. The hex plus is really good but i had to cut back the sleeves on some because it couldn't reach deep enough because of the added thickness + after some time the sleeves get loose and then the hex keys will fall out of the holder and get lost. I now switched to a normal hex key set from Wera which sure works better
None at all besides using the 10mm to crank down on an eyebolt which mushes the coating a little. That said I work in electro mechanical fields where plastic coatings on tools is a thing commonly accounted for.
Only I problem I've found is I can't use them with normal wrench holders/organizers. I would have loved to put the wera set in the Fireball hex key holder.
