Hi. Awesome video. did you notice the sparking from coil no. 3 on startup (14:41 an on). There's a lot of sparking going on. Just in case you haven't seen it. Great video :-)
Thanks for watching! And wow I had missed that! Good catch, I have to go check on that. Since the connectors are in bad shape I know I need to change the harness eventually, but I will deal with it if it's still happening. Thanks for bringing it up!
I checked today, and it's no longer an issue! Turns out it was the coil itself arcing to ground, and I replaced that coil (in part 3!). All the wires on that harness look good. Thanks again!
So far yes! But it'll be a little more with the timing belt and PCV system and some other stuff I have planned. Definitely should be a very reasonable overhaul by the time I'm done though!
Our 3.2 i-6 has an intermittent " single" misfire.......ughh....feels like a hiccup. Replaced coil pack.still does it.sometimes doesn't do it at all.sometimes it does it slightly more frequently and sometimes it just hiccups once......has no rhyme or reason whether its park drive or a/c is on or off.cant feel it driving.only at idle.....
Hi. Newbie question: as you replaced the spark plugs on cylinders 4 and 5 due poor condition, couldn’t we assume that the ones on the other cylinders would be on the same conditions and require replacement as well?
What kind of engine is installed in this XC90? I have a 2011 XC90 with the 3.2L inline 6-cylinder. It looks like mine, but I have no idea what kind of engine you are working on.
If you remove a good coil, you'll definitely be able to tell since the engine will sound different and the idle may be affected. If the coil was already bad nothing should change.
@@frenchineer just don’t know what size now , went to car parts today , and they say you need to know your spark plugs sizes length, width etc… :( Many thanks !
Yes you will need to look up the specifications. I don't have them on hand but some parts websites allow you to search by year/model/engine and will show you compatible parts.
Good catch! I've since done the timing belt service and VVT solenoid/gaskets. I didn't notice any problems with that gear while working on that stuff, but I'll have to keep it in mind in case!
