I've been calling him "Seth, probably better known as Seth, probably better known as SaffronOlive" for the past four years. Glad sushike picked up on that too :D
As a player who's built giant jank for many years now, this has been a great video! It's just a real shame we couldn't see some Sunrise Sovereign action :( One of my favourite cards.
About 31 minutes in, you were fine. You couldn't charge up the relic because you used the free mana to play the Saga and tapped the relic to play a giant so you couldn't charge it your next turn
@@MTGGoldfish I've run into the same issues with relic in my commander decks. It's sometimes so long between turns (looking at you atraxa +1/+1 deck...) I forget that I double tapped it "only" one turn previously.
A friend of mine played a version of this at FNM recently that had a zero island land base so he could play boil, and he also played through the breach main board to put inferno Titan into play at your end step, and had emrakul in his sideboard
Seriously enjoying the editing. It might be mildly annoying if it was an oversight, but knowing that stuff like the deck return were left in on purpose cracks me up.
(0:00) I have not even seen the deck list but I am really happy about you doing Giants in Modern. Very excited. I was hoping Modern Giants would be Against The Odds prior to new sets tribal stuff. (Basically Lorwyn tribal stuff with other best Giants otherwise). I am happy about that (even though I would have to see Lorwyn Giant tribal payoffs in Modern once upon a time).
That crab deck looked cool after not gonna lie. Play 12 crabs and a bunch of spells to further more landfall triggers? Yes please! Seth should definitely try that out sometime cuz it looks great lol
@@gunnertlc7728 I’m pretty sure they were playing the 2 mana ones from MH1 since they were plying snow basics specifically. It would make sense to play those basics if they had those crabs in there too
I’m confused on how coalition relic works. What determines the amount of charge counters you put on it? It could only be 1 right? So like you tap it for 1 mana added, then before you start combat you take off the one charge and it’s basically a 2 mana? Not sure if that’s how it works and also is saga done all in one turn?
Every now and then you'll do a video utilizing 4-5 mana creatures and they often weirdly work. Removal just doesn't line up with them very well. I wonder if Midrange in Modern is not explored enough and maybe there's something there.
Yeah, it is funny, but a lot of Modern decks are so focused on playing cheap answers to cheap threats that they really struggle when you play an Abominable Treefolk or a Frost Titan.
A serious idea here. How about including Mindlink Mech? It's an incredible combo with Calamity Bearer (it's an explosive amount of damage in T4 without ramp) and it's still a pseudo-haste enabler for Frost/Inferno Titan.
I love Budget Magic, it's by far the most appealing of MTGGoldfish programs to me, especially with Modern. But the MTGO interface is just awful to watch, particularly if you are not familiar with the cards. Awesome deck as always!
Mostly curve purposes. We really want to play a ramp spell on three into Frost Titan/Inferno Titan on four. Could toss in an Aegar or two if you want though, it would probably be decent.
I keep saying giants are criminally underrated and people keep looking at me like I have 3 heads. Actually take a good solid look at what invasion of giants does and realize it's the most efficient izzet card ever printed beside MAAAYBE Dack Fayden. Turn 4 inferno titan with turn 5 calamity bearer is straight up backbreaking if it sits. Tectonic giant is one of the most absurd card engines ever printed in red and offers reusable lava spikes. The best part is these giants are all literal pocket change because everyone thinks they're bad.
@@streiifi why ? if you claim that a giant is banned in every format (which would be quite a funny comment) that should be true to be actually a good comment
