"Nonsense. Enjoy your bread." YES! Thank you. I'm french, so bread culture is huge here obv, and also people all over the world have been eating bread as their main food for litteraly millenia, so I was always puzzled by the hate on bread. And still I catch myself thinking that I can't eat bread if I already had it earlier.
THANK YOU for normalizing BREAD of all things! Yes. I understand moderation but the food culture crud has really changed how we think about our food (not always for the best ways)!
I just want to say thank you Madeleine for all your hard work and effort toward spitting budget friendly regular vegan content. Especially with inflation going crazy, these videos help ❤
Average uk salary is £35,000. In the USA your wages are out of control high and that’s why food is so expensive, it’s to pay for the way higher salaries of everyone involved in food chain
I've replied this exact comment several times on her other grocery haul/meal videos! Each state has a varying average salary yet the food prices are mostly consistent everywhere here! I'm always floored at how cheap the food she shows is! 😊
I’m in Australia and our wages are not crazy high whatsoever especially in Tasmania where I live. we have the lowest wages in the country but these UK prices for food are amazingly cheap. They’ve always surprised me. The price of groceries has nothing to do with wages. Tasmania not only has the lowest wages in the country (even for the same professions like Teachers etc) but has always had the highest food and petrol prices especially now and for the wages the highest rents and house prices. Unaffordable for local people now. So not related to wages at all.
Maddie... (or anyone else if she doesn't reply), Why can't you eat the frozen spinach in smoothies/raw like that? What's wrong with it? Please advise! Thank you!
Not a dietician or the like, but afaik raw spinach is very high in oxalates which can be a problem with regard to kidney stones in case your prone to it or consume higher amounts on the regular. So, a green smoothie every now and then or a salad with some raw baby spinach leaves every other week should be fine for most people, but a green smoothie with half a cup of frozen raw spinach every other day may not be the best idea ;) The oxalate content decreases when the spinach is cooked, baked or steamed.
I’m no longer strictly vegan or even vegetarian, but would love to incorporate more veg meals into our weeks. These look delicious and you’re doing an excellent job of selling your cookbook 😉❤️. I think it comes out later here in Canada, but I want it!
Really well done vlog episode - the way you show making the dish and then each dish looks and sounds so good! Truly makes me want to try each and every recipe. As a newer subscriber, I need to learn more about your background and if both you and Alex were vegan when you met. I'd love to have a new vlog episode discussing this and how to encourage people in your life to eat more vegan meals!
The Pasta looks delicious and the berry oatmeal looks delicious and also I love the avocado toast recipe as well have a blessed day and Happy Merry Christmas and New Years to you and your family and your friends God-bless you all!! ❤❤🎉🎉
As if I needed another reason to buy the cookbook! One ld tbe reason I struggle with eating vegan is my endless list of food allergies. Thank you for listing what is nut free, etc!
Budget porridge 😂 not the way you make it. Can you not chuck the fruit in the porridge pan with the oats to cook? Save washing up and electric/gas, The soup looks fab, can it be blended? I dont like chunky soup,
Just chipping in here but I make similar porridge to that and you can throw the fruit in but you end up with a purple mush, it's nicer to have the berries separate. I often microwave mine (with a splash of water) for just a short time to get them jammy or even just thawed and warm is nice 🙂 I would probably blend some of the soup at least but I'd better shut up and let Madeleine answer for her recipes herself!
I confess I prefer to make the porridge topping without any extra sweetness as I can't have sugar, I am not really suppose to eat fruit either but once in a blue moon seems ok. I do not miss the extra sweetness. Just having the fruit topping is a treat in itself lol
I feel like that about bread! I do have it regardless but I do think to myself 'shouldn't be having this'. Wow not great. Thank you for highlighting this
I'm so hungry! Immediately making all the these recipes tomorrow. Love what you said about diet culture and bread. I think the thing with bread is ... homemade is great, homemade sourdough is better BUT the supermarket stuff can be packed full of nasties and emulsifier. Always read the labels folks x
Hi Maddie! Do you eat peanut butter these days? I remember you always had the fredas (?) pb during covid times :) Vegan food seems so much cheaper in the uk than where I live, so sad :(
This one is filmed previously I see bc of your nail color, lol! I'm glad you're able to do some of these ahead of time to give you a break through the 24 days straight! 😊 Thanks for sharing!
It adds a creamy cheesey flavour to sauces (amazing for mac & cheese) and dressings, you can add it to and what you like really lol I sprinkle on avo and/or mushrooms on toast and when I make a vegan spag bol.
Oh you are so lucky to have all those options . Here (in the states) there are only a few stores with your typical Vega food. You have to drive an hour and the selection is awful. Hopefully some of those brands will make it this way.
I’ve lived in three states and never had any trouble finding this stuff at regular chains like Publix Kroger Walmart Target Ralph’s Food lion… maybe if you live in a very small town?
@@Raddiebaddie Hello, Yes those places do have vegan options but my town is an hour away from those places you mentioned and our local store will have your basic frozen bean burgers but that's about it. LoL I love my little town so I will drive an hour. 😊💜
