@@josephxkendrick I think he was just saying it would be cool to see it pop up as you completed orders, it would also put an emphasis on just how much work your putting in for the money👍 understandably it would be a pain to edit though
For anyone wondering his bike and equipment setup: - He rides a Dolan fixie frame with Nukeproof handlebars and Halo wheels (bomb proof allegedly). It is as 47/17 gear ratio I think. - He uses Blahol bags to keep the food warm. - His helmet is a Bontrager Ballista - During winter he wore a thermal long sleeve base layer, long sleeve top and jacket. Hope this helps someone loads and loads of questiona about Josephs gear.
West londoner here, I usually go walk to the gym at night (30min walk anywhere between 11pm-4am) and feel extremely safe. Central is pretty safe also. South london? Yeah, I wouldnt go there.
Hey Joseph, I like your attitude. It’s refreshing to watch a video of cycling through London without having to listen to abuse being shouted every time somebody accidentally cuts you, the cyclist, up or walks in front of you etc. You will do well in life with your optimism and enthusiasm.
When I used to do this part time I often wondered what the physical ‘earnings cap’ would be. I guess this proves it’s about £1k a week, riding 100miles per day, for about 17 hours. Not really a sustainable lifestyle on a bicycle. But makes for good RU-vid content!
Thanks, mate! I actually do love the job and what it can do for your character and mindset. Plus I just love riding bikes and being outdoors having adventures. Thanks for the views and comment!
Tonxnot 1 I know my friend. My highest Was £231 a day 13 hour shift (£28 petrol + ins) . A mate of mine did £240 in London Camden by a moped (£10 petrol + ins). Moped is the game changer in this industry!
If you guys are feeling WILD... my Stuart referral code is '38889'. We both get £50 each if you do 30 deliveries within 30 days of starting. 👀stuart.com/become-courier
@josh langley Stuart is another delivery company. I'm sure they operate in Manchester too! You can sign-in whenever you want and get paid per-drop and can also get shift slots with guaranteed pay too. Definitely worthwhile being on multiple platforms to increase your chances of being busy and getting paid more! Use my code if/when you sign-up ;)
I commute 12 mile to work each day and my legs feel a bit empty and fatigued the further towards Friday I get, how do you keep at it doing SO many miles day after day? Stretching? Diet? What are you thoughts?
Eat lots, I guess. Also can depend on riding style (sprinting, riding in a big gear) and actual environment you're riding in (hills, traffic). A lot of it is perspective and experience though, I think! Will gradually build up over time.
@@josephxkendrick there's a few hills but hearing you say that could be from using relatively high gear, definitely eat more than enough 😂 Ill change things up a bit in the new year, have a good Christmas and looking forward to pt. 2 ❤️ South East, Kent
It's more or less just getting used to it, George. When I started as a bike courier, I was going home knackered after 6hours and used to wake up with my legs still being sore, but I just gradually and slowly increased the hours and now I can do a 12hour shift without needing a break and do the same thing the next day. Great video btw, Joseph!
Depends on the situation but I usually turn it off and take it off. Exposure lights use a little pin thing to keep them in place which would probably be quite fiddly for those who aren't used to using them but still not worth the risk of someone taking it while I have my back turned.
Isn't there an app where you get paid to drive your bike around town with an ad on the side of it? You could do Uber while also doing this! Maximize earnings potential.
Proper enthralling viewing. In bed with the flu - feeling, I dunno, inspired? At you killing it in the freezing cold in east/central London. You have no fear. Looking forward to part 2 - can imagine this is a pig to edit. Either way - you have a new subscriber and fan in me. Big up
I enjoyed this video! really helpful seeing how much you put in and how much gets paid to you. I just started with Stuart and look forward to my first months as a rider. Nice to see someone who enjoys it too. What type of bag do you have? I am struggling to get my hands on a decent one. I think Stuart want me to get a 60L 16" x 16" etc etc 🤣
@@taylorheninger5196 Awesome, mate! Might be there next year doing deliveries too depending on how the next 6 months goes. Well, Gold Coast most likely!
So what I understand is that this is not remotely worth it if even doing it in the normal sense. Just work at Walmart and work less hours for more money.
He's trying to get $1300 in one week on bike and the most I've ever made with grubhub and a car was a little over $400 in one week in the US. Then again, I don't do 15 hours a day.
hey man I've been making £700 week on 40 hours work thinking about doing £1000/wk. I only work from 5 pm till 10pm so it should be do able. if I do say 1-10pm on 3 out of days?
andrew reid thats an OG bag from a company called ‘TakeEatEasy’ that was around in the early days but went bust around 4 years ago. I’m surprised it’s still standing strong. Has probably carried thousands and thousands of orders!
I have earned over a 1000 pounds per week multiple times in Leeds, UK and was the top courier nationwide on Stuart for consecutive few weeks too. I thought its easier to hit 1k in London, but goodluck!
Joseph Kendrick yes, a pushbike. There is a student accommodations around kfc and subway in Leeds so I was calling students to go out and collect the order when I was still inside KFC. My personal record was 7 orders in an hour and with those stuart bonuses that was great earnings. Leeds is pretty small city with 3 universities in one place so it was like a gold mining when they come to city.
I basically just found myself looking out for all the pedestrians stepping out on you 😆I'll happily take a road full of buses, trucks and taxis over someone crossing the road on their phone.
Currently biking 5-10 hrs a day inconsistently. I can make 200 in a 7-10 hour shift all depending on demand. Toronto Canada. Downtown core only. This is the most money I have ever made.
@@josephxkendrick Macca's are easy dude! Especially if you have a Blahol bag. Drinks on the bottom, food up top. That way if the drinks/ice creams do leak, it only goes in your bag and doesn't spoil the whooole delivery. Hasn't failed me once. I even got door'd in traffic carrying 4 Large Cokes, went full send over my handlebar, and not a drop of spillage. Macca's ftw!
Hello there mate! I have a question, is it possible to work in uber/stuart while im working on another place? For example Monday-friday on my regular job,Saturday sunday delivering? Does it matter how long i have to work?Or everything depends on me? Thanks
I wish these delivery jobs would be as simple to do where I live. Can't do it without either being employed by a company or starting one yourself and partnering with Uber/Wolt and others.
Hi mate! Firstly thanks for your videos! I've learnt a lot seeing them. I would like to ask what do you think is the best delivery app to start as a rider in the uk? I mean, to learn everything and also get the bicycle delivery kit. Thanks in advance for your help!
Both have their pros/cons. Stuart pays more per delivery and often has bonuses but has more 'rules' and the app can be annoying - you can also get shifts with guaranteed pay if you're lucky. Uber operates for longer, in more areas and is more relaxed. My earnings were split quite evenly between the two over the week.
I don't understand how you can get paid 7£ for a single delivery, I mean, how much does the client pay for delivery? And the rest comes from the restaurant?
Massimo Ricciuti I think it means. if someone orders from a restaurant on Uber eats. Uber eats takes 30% as a fee for delivering food for the restaurant. So if someone orders £20 worth of food, the restaurant gets £14 and Uber eats keeps £6. And also Uber eats charges the customer £3.50 per delivery (on average). So in this scenario Uber eats pays the driver £7.50 from the £9.50 it made and keeps the rest as profit.
Hey, is it worth it to join all of them. Like be Uber, deliveroo, Stuart, just eat,. Is that possible or even would you recommend it? Are there anymore companies maybe one can join all at once? Thanks in advance
Your endurance will slowly build up. I've been riding for a very long time and have done some challenges which are scarier than this. Just stick with it and you'll be shocked at what you can gradually achieve.
It seriously doesn't hurt to be on as many as possible. Gives you more flexibility and means you're more likely to be on a job making money and less likely to be sitting around in the cold making £0. If you sign-up to Stuart, make sure you use 38889 as your referral code on the first sign-up page because it'll earn us BOTH £50 each if you do 30 deliveries within 30 days of completing your on-boarding. Good luck, brother!
