I think the additional toilet in this configuration makes a lot of sense. You’ll probably never need a second shower, but one day if two people get seasick that second toilet is going to be the best feature on the boat.
Think many would agree with your sentiment. All that curved woodwork would have been so expensive and labour intensive, I much prefer it to today's 'ikea' look interiors. Also liking the slightly darker caramelly(?) leather. 👍🏼.
The decor is 20 years old, but wow that boat was well maintained. It's usually the anchor locker that is forgotten, particularly the upper area around the hatch, and this was almost spotless. A well-maintained boat means it'll serve its new owners very well. Love the dual-heads setup, because nothing will kill the romance of a couple spending a week on the water faster than not being able to use the toity... Thanks for the tour! That's a very fine boat!
I wish he could have been mentioning the company having done all that detailing - are they at this particular harbour, or are they a mobile service, intended to travel and visit customer boats almost everywhere? And they seem to be that good, our entertainer could include them into his sponsorlist?
An upgrade on the helm electronics and USB ports everywhere for charging devices to keep the kids and adults happy...and you're set for a long weekend.
Lovely boat. But after seeing some of the older boats you’ve featured recently, I think this one would benefit from some modernisation. You could go wonders with it. As you say though it has it all.
Can you tell us a bit more about those fine shoes? Make/model? genuine leather? Length? Asking price? And will we be getting a full video tour where they are displayed as they walk up (or down) your super yacht stairway?
As an older boat, it is very lovely and fairly clever that they have managed to fit two heads (well one and a half) on a ub-40 foot boat. I don't think I have seen that before! But brilliant tour as always, thanks Nick!
This is an excellent boat with all you need & 2 toilet +the fly bridge which is a major bonus. Excellent review Nick & this could be Smugglers 3 not that would please beloved.
There just be a way to turn this into a rental for amazing romantic dinners for engagement and anniversary dinners with a small limited sea tour that's not to expensive. How romantic would that be. Great way to off set the cost of boarding the yacht. . Great as always. Thanks you Nick.
Great layout, like you said, what more could you want, great condition for a boat that is nearly 20 years old, think that offers great value and affordable sailing. Ps like the shoes by the way 👍
And thank you Nick for this nice show of this Fairlinre Phantom 38 a nice yacht from the 2002 I like the bar cabinet and for the tv but also galley more at front then that this divide the saloon with the out side thanks again Nick
This could definitely be the next Smugglers Blues, it would not be that hard, it just takes each of your subscribers to send you £0.45. Just 45p for many hours of top content next year. I’m in, cheque in post. PS Omega Seamaster? In 007 Blue?
Another great tour and another great boat...I'll echo the other comments, this boat is a delight to see, so well maintained! It's a super boat, the perfect family boat. I just can't believe how she is in such fine condition...it almost looks new, hats off to the owner for a labour of love keeping that boat looking so good. That is a fab boat.
Not a fan of the heads setup, but a wonderful boat. Is it possible to change the layout of a 20 year old boat, without tearing it up end to end? And is it financially worth it?
I suppose the question is how far you want to change the layout. But one thing Fairline, Sunseeker and Princess were renowned for in the mid 90's - mid 00's was the excellent standard of finish and good quality of materials used, so any layout change would potentially reduce the buying confidence of a new owner if a boat has been dramatically changed since production. I would suggest Fairline have actually nailed the layout of this boat pretty well for its size, they have given 2 generous cabins plus 2 heads where other manufacturers compromised on space to add a 3rd cabin. If I was in the market for this price point of boat, I'd suggest probably the slightly larger Princess 440 as a good alternative with 1998-2000 models being of a similar price to this.
Hey Nick it's great to see a yacht that's 20 years old and looks that good and it's reflected in the price so if that doesn't encourage owners to look after their yachts nothing will, Have a great day bud
That's what I love from your videos: 1:35 Sometimes you hold the cam still and let us viewers look. .... in contrast to many alledged modern super cool videos where the cam is flying around like a nervous insect.
THIRTY. EIGHT. FEET. Astounding. Phantom obviously refers to the rest of this 45 foot boat who's space is the only visible evidence. Ageless? Ever contemporary. Best use of space in a boat. PERIOD. But for an ocean crossing and a few hundred thousand dollars this boat would be MINE. Great find, Nick. Thanks again for sharing...
My dream would be to live on a boat like this. I would continually work my way around the Mediterranean. HOWEVER. I don't have any money, and have no idea how to drive (pilot)? a boat 😂. But that doesn't stop me watching these wonderful videos and fantasising 🙂
Man that is NICE NICE NICE in terms of cosmetic upkeep. You'd never guess that was a 20+ year old boat. If they kept the mechanical bits in the same shape as the cosmetics, this has to be THE FINEST boat for the the $$$ you have shown on your channel. Also the design has really aged well, love the lines on this boat, the interior fitments/colors still look great 20 years later, that galley layout is pretty cool in that you can prep a meal and still talk to everybody inside. That flybridge looks like a fun place to drink beer and get your hair blown back. Or lose your hat and have your bald head tickled in my case lol.
Aloha; I'll echo comments below - a well loved, respected and cared for vessel. Other than wrinkles in the leather upholstery - minor - the interior looks brand new. Much respect for the owner(s)! Mahalo
Hi nick, have you an email address I could contact you on. I'm not on social media at all. Just want to pick your good brain regarding leader 805. Regards, jason Ps love the channel
Very nice yacht for the money. You forgot to give us the top speed? 😁 After a quick look around Google, I think it's about 32 knots. There are quite a few of these for sale so it must have been a popular boat back in the day, and I can see why. 👍✌
What, no crew cabin? 😅 Seriously though, you are right about it is all the boat I would ever need. Well kept 22 year old water craft that has all the amenities one would need for a weekend on the water.
We can absolutely transform a yacht like this - if you find a boat that is structurally sound, we can take care of the rest! We have some very exciting projects coming up soon, so keep an eye on our socials/website
Ok… I have to be honest. I love Nicks enthusiasm for this boat. As much as we like smugglers blues…we have seen it for 3years of summers. Nick we need you to upgrade and this looks like an option? We need to be entertained ok. Some of us dream of this and you solve that dream for most of us… but seriously you need to upgrade 😀
another great tour Nick thank you, First time i have seen this model from Fairline i can see why you are taken by it Nick it is what i would call a proper little big boat great for weekends
Good value, and good family or friends cruiser. These 'Noughties's' Sunseeker/Princess/Fairline cruisers have really come into their own today, and can be easily updated as and when you can afford it.
Grats on the shoes Nick. Just so happens, I bought new boots for work yesterday and wore them for the first time today 😄. See that, we're practically family now... brother? Lol
Great walk around and always nice to hear some background on the tech of the time. Super condition and desirable boat... and is that an Omega seamaster 300 ? Have you been expanding your collection?
4:48 I use these little moisture buckets sitting on the dash on my boat in the winter! They work quite well! BTW: I like the Fairline 40 Targa better! It used to sit beside this boat 2 years ago when you toured the 40 this Fairline was next to it! 😉
That boat, for it's age, looks in amazing condition, what's the story of it? The upkeep to maintain it looking that good wasn't cheap. Also, what new kicks are you rockin, plus different watch, again? Some of these questions were from my 5 year old,she loves your channel, I dunno why, she just does, will barge into me watching"is that the boat guy!?" She's gonna figure out ips vs direct drive before I do.
Very nice boat and very good video like always Nick. Can you explain me what’s that little like shaft on the side of shaftdrive? Thanks and keep coming!
Hi , The owners have set a high standard , ready for sale , not like some boats we have looked at over the years . A nice walk round Nick and if any one fancies a Fairline , they were very well built .
Nick, an avid viewer of many of your videos but I do have to correct you about Navtex being "completely" out of date ... It is still a requirement under SOLAS regulations for vessels of a certain size and very much a "current" system for Marine Safety Information (MSI). In the absence of Sat-C it's the next best offshore system for reception of weather and navigational safety info! Don't worry, I'll keep watching 😁
@@AQUAHOLIC yep, I installed an LCD based system on a vessel and they hated it because it's so much more difficult to scroll and find the relevant messages! The OOW were crying out for a means to print them!
Nick, could you show us a behind the scenes video? How you prep, and how you plan your tour.? How many emails do you normally do before your visit and will the company have any editorial rights etc. Before these excellent videos get published?
