What a wonderful time capsule. May not be modern, but everything works. I certainly wouldn’t mind calling this my own.

Even though it's old I could very comfortably stay on this for a lengthy period...has everything you need...and for a fraction of the price of a modern boat 😀👍

1986 was an exciting year - Ukraine's Chernobyl Nuclear power plant exploded, Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrated after launch, Mad Cow was officially recognized, Richard Branson drove his 72 ft powerboat 'Virgin Challenger II' for the fastest crossing of the Atlantic and - Sunseeker Yachts released this San Remo 33. WHAT A YEAR. Since 1986, Chernobyl is unusable, no more Space Shuttles, Branson switched to space ships, Mad Cow was eucerped by COVID, but this boat REMAINS fully functional and is still a work of art...

As A Marine, I was on a lot of Navy ships. All the hatches had that step over thing. No hatches went all the way to the deck. I'm sure there's a reason why. LOL Great older boat. I love the louvered doors. A lot of the trawler types still have that. Thanks for taking the time to show it to us.

Almost expected to see an avocado toilet and handbasin. Just imagine Duran Duran Rio blasting out as they were cruising down the coast, in 1986. Fantastic Nick. 👍 I would spend the money to completely recondition it, but I wouldn’t change its appearance. It’s a wonderful piece of nostalgia.

Hi, another classic and great fun to own , good sea keeping , and cheap to run if serviced properly . This design from the 23 to the 34 ft . still turn heads when you go into port . Thanks for the video Nick

Love the perspective of the higher quality old boats! Here in the states we have many Sea Ray Sundancers from the mid eighties still going strong. Very rare to see diesels in them as we have been unrealistically spoiled by relatively low gas prices. They are most likely on their second or third repowers by now. The fiberglass layups are thick as a brick.

What a surprise, good condition, really cosy, perfect for a couple or small family, great value, wish i had the means..

You could do a reupholster in selected parts, maybe upgrade that windscreen surround with SS and some new vinyl decals and it would look brand new. Must have been quality when new as it’s lasted so long

Great video. I own in the Med a Sunseeker Ocean 31 1983 in similar condition except I re engined with 2 x Volvo V8 turbo petrols 10 tears ago. Agree with you Nick does everything we want as a day boat, will never change. Last survey and the French surveyor was blown away by the quality of the hull, if only boats were built like this now he said! I had a query 3 years ago and rang Sunseeker in Poole and unbelievably spoke to the craftsman who actually built her! Amazing and he was able to chat about the boat. I love her to bits.

Gosh this brings back so many memories of our old (very old and equally original) Martinique 36! For my tastes I'm glad things have moved on a touch, but what a classic bit of fun and great to see, thanks Nick!

I was married in 86 and would have been overjoyed with a boat like this. My employer at that time had a Storebro (34, I think) and he used to take all of his slaves out a couple of times every summer with that. We were around 10-12 people and as I remember it there was ample space, although some had to sleep ashore. I was proud owner of a 17ft sportsboat with a 60hp outboard at that time so that made me first mate onboard and I got to drive as the boss entertained his guests. Those Sunseekers were state of the art at the time and it is really remarkable how that boat has been kept through the years. Ahh, those days... :)

Watching this video suddenly made me very proud of my vintage. I'll definitely need to remember that bit about "becoming a classic". Many thanks, Nick!

Went on a san remo in benelmadena Spain last summer, the other end of the scale.bilge pump alarm starboard engine constantly on with oily water being discharged...smoked like a chimney..max speed we achieved was about 5 knots...it was a wreck...Nice to see a good one.

We own a 1988 Carver Montego. 3257. Very similar boat. Had to refurbish ours. I love it! It's an affordable way to be on the water overnight. Blessed with our "Seas of Rhye" 😍

Lovely! Really reminds me of my childhood, all the 'posh' folks in Frisia had a boat like this, it could even go out on the sea! In our family the steel cruisers were predominant, and back then... they weren't great!

This is the exact boat I want and am looking for.. This Sold ages ago, been sold on one Marine for weeks. - was one of the first boats I called them about. They don't hang about !

If you can get a zero knocked off, I'm in. I love it, still looks fast and plenty of space for a few mates or your family. Those key floats remind of the ones that sailing jackets came with in the 90's. I wouldn't change anything, just repair what needed repairing and keep it as a classic

I also loved how people of that period didn't need Seabobs and jetskis and cinemas and large TVs to be entertained whilst underway. Nothing wrong with those, but I think it just shows how much people really valued conviviality over other "things" during that time.

That’s the way they were and to be honest, not a lot wrong with that. A lovely boat, would make a superb freshen up referb project although it’s gorgeous how it is with all its charm.

Awesome! Great tour Nick. Personally I don't like curved glass/Perspex as it distorts, so plain flat glass is fine by me. The boat is superb...I would buy that in an instant....but I'd definitely want to install new upper deck seating, and that little table below decks looks looks a little embarrassed! A nice kidney shaped table there would look great. Love the analogue dials and the galley, all wonderful. This is a super boat!! I'm amazed that the owners didn't succumb to the desire to upgrade. Sunseeker need to keep knocking out these kind of boats...boats for the everyman!
