The look in his eyes when he helps her with the fish is the most pure and fascinating look, real or acted, I have ever seen in my life. With that look he melted my heart completey. Thank you so much for your wonderful and touching videos!
@@natasha123309 I'm not familiar with French cuisine buT those tiny fish??? How you cook those?? Even if I eat them all I'll still be hungry and she gotta share with grandpa. Over here fish that size is left alone in the sea till they got big enough to be eaten.
sardines, mackerels, there are lots of small fish in the ocean. But what a beautiful movie about the human connection...love does not recognize combatants@@bobandlucas
He knows that she feels the same way as he does. but he wants to hear her. say it. But we all know how harshly the French treated women who had relations with German soldiers after the War ended. so she will stay silent until the very end. 😢😢.
One of the best movies I have ever seen. Few words, but words were not necessary with the tremendous acting. Indeed the silence was deafening. The actors are superb and the French actor playing the German Captain is so unbelievably handsome. We know there will be no good ending. It is essentially a death sentence to go the Eastern Front. We all like happy endings, but it is not to be. WAR IS HELL.
Isn't it so strange that this film is so beautiful with so little dialogue. I agree with you this must be the best movie I have seen. It makes one wonder how many shattered hearts came out of that war.
Чистая нежная любовь, ни одного прикосновения, только глаза, душа и сердце говорит о большой любви друг друга, Жанна великолепно, нежная, красивая, искренне любит, видно что первая любовь
That's true some souls do understand love by silence words can't speak everything in our hearts but eyes can ...this love is so pure it makes your heart cry when watching this video..."you soulmate will be a stranger that you'll recognize" perfect wards matches the video...Good luck & thanks alot ❤️
@@aliciabiundo7186 Yes, love is a state of being! This movie is a portal to the frequency of LOVE. Some one in the comment said that she cried so much while watching the movie, and could not find her way out afterwards......😂😂😂
Watched this clip again tonight, I have watched it so many times already. When I dont have time to watch the DVD IWatch one of many clips here on U Tube and I think that this one is the most beautiful of them all.
@marysmyth2798, have you read Dolores Cannon? Brian Weiss, Michael Newton? Dr. Raymond Moody? Sylvia Brown's "Life on the other side"? All about soul work. We are soul having a human experience. This movie makes appreciate humanity. BTW, Charles Ensenstain has an animation called "Soul Tribe", it is extremely moving and revelatory. Check it out.
The story of souls is especially poignant. My new revelation is that Werner will have a hard time forgiving Jeanne for not saving his friends and his orderly. He went to the Eastern Front due to survivor’s guilt.
Di QUESTO FILMATO HO POTUTO OSSERVARE IL SILENZIO D'AMORE MOLTO RISPETTOSO CHE DUE PERSONE TENEVANO NEL ❤ E NON POTEVANO X NECESSITÀ DEGLI EVENTI MALEDETTI ❤❤❤❤
If this is fiction then you should be able to add anything you want. She was too cold to him. She should have hugged him good-bye, and gave him a kiss on the cheek, and whispered in his ear please don't leave me.
This was a beautiful film, and the words you have written are equally beautiful. I don't know if you are quoting someone else or if they are your own, but they went straight to my heart.Thank you so much.
This was such a lovely video that perfectly captured the emotions in the film, not only with the overlaying text (recognized some Rumi) but also with your editing and choice of background music.
It is actually true about souls. Read some Near Death Experiences, a podcaster @NextLevelSoul, he interviews many people who crossed over and came back. Dr. Brian Weiss also wrote a book "Many Masters Many lives" about Reincarnation. I hope if Werner can survive the Eastern Front, he'd come back looking for her, if not, he could give her an apparition, a spirit visit.
Beautifully said, that is how it made me feel, merging into the love consciousness, very high vibration. I think it is precisely because it is all feeling, no touching, the audience merge into the frequency of love...Werner opens the energy portal for Jeanne, and we all swarm in, and no one wants to come down to earth afterwards. lol...This film gave us a piece of Heaven on Earth. This is how it should be.
@@leiyang477 I believe he did. The first time I watched it I felt he did. In the ending Jeanne told her grandpa she has a lesson to give. She looks like a young woman in love going to see her love. But because this love is not really accepted to has to be careful and hide it. The war ended in the winter so the movie shows us spring . The Germans lost and surrendered ..think Normandy and Soviet Union Germans could not handle the freezing temperatures . And the Americans just arrived fresh troops well supplied. The hand that I saw putting out the flower pot was a mans hand. It’s bigger and longer compared to s woman’s hand. Only After reading many comments I watched it again. Yes I am sure he came back . Not everyone died on the front. Why put out a pot out when the wars over no resistAnce ? For us the viewers to draw our own conclusions using our perception . She loves her grandpa . She is all he has . She would not join resistance just because her friend died, she does not want to be part of killing people either. You can see that she does a lot of things to take care of herself and her grandpa. He is old and had a bad leg from war. Now she also as a child to care for. This she promised her friend. Why would she put her life in danger . She didn’t..
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All your videos are amazing with Jeanne&Werner. This movie was incredible- so happy I found it- now I'm going to buy the book! {hope it comes in English ;) }
Il film si chiama IL SILENZIO DEL MARE. È solo su RU-vid è in francese con i sottotitoli in italiano,è bellissimo e tenero vale la pena guardarlo più volte
In the novel Werner is more ambiguous about the war. At the end he goes to the Russian front because he is desperate and has realized that the the Germans want to crush France.
I think it took both actors and the script written for their parts to interplay. It is unfair to say Thomas Jouannet's part was merely Hugo Boss. Instead of having endless monologue delve into psychological or philosophical topics, the script writer added some actions instead so the movie is not visually static, she wrote in the activities taking place outside of the house and a host other characters like the students for her piano lessons, the cousin who pursued and tried to assaulted her, the resistant fighter couple, the jewish family etc. to adapt the script for a 2004 audience. I compliment the work Pierre Boutron and the screenwriter have done. There were theatre adaptations in Britain, which is more suited to stage plays.
I disagree that Werner had no depth. While Julia (Jeanne)was good, Thomas (Werner) was incredible. The depth of emotion in his eyes and the smile was incredible. It is no wonder that so many different ethnicities find him so appealing. He epitomizes what is missing today. Chivalry, well read, a musician and yet so masculine. The character embodies the best of humanity. I am so in love with this film. Foes through no fault of their, they can not love without betraying their duty to their countries. So poignant, so sad. Unfortunately I’m addicted to these clips and the full movie. It is the very best movie I have ever seen and one sees many movies when they are a nonagenarian.
@@tonmarinaxxzz Both characters were victims of the Elite War makers, and their potent, prolonged, all encompassing propaganda (Nationalism, Fascism, Communism, hate, fanaticism, indoctrination...via 'education', 'newspaper, shortwave radio'...), what we call "gaslighting" today...and they are still doing it to us today.....

This is too funny and catches the present condition. They manage to kill off the best of humanity in that war, yet love blossoms everywhere even in times of war.
