at tier 10? depends, 150mm shells don't have much penetration, most battleships and heavy cruisers will shatter, let alone citadel. he chose HE for more consistency.

@@namele55777 FYI HE "shatters", AP bounces... The reason he'd have more damage is because of saturation. When you hit mid-game and later, the enemies that are at around 50% HP more than likely have had their superstructures and lighter armored areas such as their bow and stern saturated with fire damage. This causes HE to do way less damage. Now getting pens with AP prevents this, and actually leads to more consistent damage, not less. At the distance most of his shots landed, he would be completely missing the main and upper armored belts of the enemy ships, and would instead be hitting superstructure or landing plunging fire onto their decks with AP shells that can easily pen even 50mm decks of BBs. This can't be done in most cruisers due to their velocity and shell arc, which means they land on the deck at a much shallower angle which mostly leads to autobounces. With the Yodo your shells are so light that they lose most of their velocity about 2/3 of the distance to the target when shooting close to your max range, meaning they fall down at a near 90deg angle, or near 0deg relative to the armored plate, easily punching thru deck armor and dealing a consistent 5-7k damage salvos. Do to the same reasons they lose energy so much, with the shells being so light, at close range they tend to almost never overpen even when shooting superstructures. So once you have a fire or two going, switching to AP on a target will net you much more damage. The issue is that most people automatically think that when they load AP, they need to shoot center mass, which usually means wasting your entire salvo bouncing off the enemies main and/or upper belt. IMO, players who mastered the Italian cruiser tree, are going to have fun and be just fine in the Yodo, since where you need to shoot at enemies is roughly the same.
