I was able to go all the way to the top when we visited in 2023. It was rough going after the area you stopped. My wise did not come all the way up. Beautiful place.

Saw in last video you were ill. So sorry to hear this. Hope you recovered quickly. I always notice you wash your hands as you enter buffet. You really need to wash your hands after getting food from buffet. You have handled all the serving spoons. We wash our hands once we put food down , then wash. It’s rough to have stomach flu, especially on vacation. Glad you’re safe.
True! We normally try to hit either the sinks or at least the sanitizer station both before and after. We’re wondering if the library book Dee picked up might have been part of the problem. We’ve made sure to wipe down anything that we get from the library now!!

Nothing is worse than the stomach bug, but I'm glad that Dee was feeling better in 24 hours. It still makes you feel like you've been run over by a truck for a few days afterward. I enjoyed your tour of Ísafjörður and especially those majestic waterfalls. Your photography is beautiful, and your vlogs are always very informative and well done.
There was an outbreak when we were on the Nieuw Statendam in 2022 as well. My Dad got sick for several days, but thankfully fully recovered. He missed 2 Icelandic ports unfortunately. I wish all the ships would stop self service, that requires a lot more staff though. I’m glad Dee only had a brief stint of it and recovered. Missing Reykjavik is a bummer for sure. I’m the person going around telling everyone in my party to not touch the rails or touch any buttons with your hands/ fingers. Before there was Covid, there was Norwalk.
We both remember hearing that on the tour, but there must have been some sort of miscommunication there, ha ha… apparently it was registered as a national historic type site in 1981, soooo… I guess folks definitely knew about it. Oops!! :P
Not sure exactly where, but it’s usually made worse by improper handwashing onboard. We started hearing lots of announcements about the importance of that!! :P
I booked a cruise for next August out of Reykjavik. So nice to see the two ports you posted and to hear about the big bus Iceland tour company. Definitely going to use them next year. Enjoy rest of your upcoming cruises.
Woohoo! We won’t have a Reykjavik episode in this series, but we did a tour with BusTravel Iceland last time we were there around the Golden Circle. That’s an awesome one if you have time!! :D
