Looks very similar to the ID 4 in my opinion. The silhouette, the bulky front, the curved roof, the rear wing, the rims, the interior the shape of the rear end, the price, the platform. Overall it just looks like an ID 4 with a slightly more aggressive style, because of some harder lines in the front.

@@fn1322 it looks like id4 because it’s a car as well! It’s the same platform, yes, inside it’s similar yes but from outside to say it’s similar? Id4 is completely different character car, everything rounded and smooth. If you would say it’s lookimg like otjer skoda cars I would agree but not like id4 sorry... looking much better and actually much more premium. But of course only my opinion.

Drum brake makes sense from engineering standpoint. Most people won't even consider the difference. And it is more efficient and maintenance free.

Drum breaks are now being used more then discs to reduce free particles. Discs emit those particles to free air which has been a source of polution. Drums don't have these problems.

Great video as usual, Josip. I’m planning to buy one of these so your thoroughness with this review is so useful. Fantastic level of detail, far better than you would get in any magazine. I think the car looks brilliant, I’m not really a fan of SUVs but this looks more like a slightly taller station wagon. It seems the perfect replacement for my much-loved SEAT Leon ST. Keep up the great work, I can’t wait to see your driving impressions!

So much better than the id4 externally and internally, not sure about the small driver display i kind of wish they carried over the octavia display, but thank you skoda for giving the driver 4 proper window switches, but why no 12v in the front for accessories

Nice review lots of need to know in there but the 80's charging speeds lack of preconditioning, bhp power and troubled software just wasn't up to it. Waited and waited now ordered the 85 Edition with sunroof

Test drove the Enyaq 80 today. I was really impressed. But there's a 15-week lead time at the moment (July 2021). Wouldn't see it until November. That's too loooong a wait.

@@JRCarReviews I'm honestly torn betwen a Model 3 or the Enyaq. I like both a lot. The Model 3 for its performance and OTAs, the Enyaq for its large boot, SUV ride height, unique crystal face lighting including Matrix LED lights, and the augmented HUD. Both cars are excellent EVs. But 15-weeks (why, Skoda? Haha)

Drum brake in the back isn’t because of the lower maintenance costs. They’re used because a drum brake has no friction, so the travel range is better.

Maybe because Tesla Cars aren’t limited to a top speed. The argument of lower friction = higher range was mentioned by Thomas Ulbrich (Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Brand responsible for Technical Development) in an interview I saw two weeks ago.

Apparently because an ev uses regen rather than brakes most the time so no need for expensive discs.

Thank you for the showdown! Good, beautiful and stylish vihecle. But full blown Kodiaq with extras is around 38K EUR. How rationally to justify a purchase about 26K more (except principles and the fun angle)? No government intencives in my country and even with them its just not "affordable" car...still. Pitty...

When you will make driving test? Interesting also night test and if there is lights which turns like in ID4. Is there similar parking assistant than older Skodas (automated steering when parking)? I think you missed power outlet (Schuko) in back seat.

POV test drive is live, night POV with review is coming next week. You get the rear lights gimmick. I never use auto park features so for that IDK, but I assume it’s the same. Haven’t see the Schuko in the back seat. Will look for it next time I get the car for a test.

The Cost Of In India Is Nearly 50 Million Rupees That Is For High End Vehicle, Must Provide A Place For Spare Wheel Some Where In Skoda Enyaq iv 80 !. But Only Provide A Patching Kit For Tires. Ok, How to Put Back Air Inside The Tire ? And Will There Provide Class, How To Patch Up Punched Tire Too ? @@999Flopp Vegan which means artificial or fake. But it’s actually better and lasts longer, no funny smell and no animals were killed. I will get tomorrow a test car black with brown leather space.

Take the 20 your going to get more range and comfort. And get the heat pump and fast charging!

There is no room because of electric motor and batteries. You get a patching kit for tires.

Bit messy the part presenting the functions of touch screen. There are somany functions and options too that you need lower engineering degree to learn all that. Maybe some features like air conditioning would be safer to use manually. But all in all, Skoda is hard to beat, whatcomes to practicality. And some features and solutions are clever, as the slogan promises.

Je dosta skup. Slagao sam konfiguraciju prije nego su isprinatali svoju. Stavio sam sve što sam vidio da auto ima od dodatne opreme. Ispalo je 100K kn manje od njihove. Pa sam se i sam šokirao.

Have you been able to compare with ID4 interior? From videos & pictures enyaq looks/feels better! I agree with you: please stop piano black it looks ugly from day 1 :-D

Waiting for the basic blue color. Huge SuV not capable to go on long trips ....400 km when driving 92 km/h.. Between chargers SoC (20-75%) there is only 180 km to expect in Winter. Suv as a Bev will frustate more than thrill. Offroading?...its a city car for Mamas or a good Taxis. Design and touch does not feel dirty cheap like in the Vw id.s. Good job. And the mobile Wallbox 3 phase should be standard.

Electric vehicles are just better. No noise, no emissions, less fuel costs, less maintenance costs. Gasoline and diesel are OLD polluting technology. So last century. Hydrogen is a waste of time and money. Electric cars, electric trucks, electric buses, electric trash haulers, electric snow blowers, electric lawn mowers, electric snow mobiles, electric water craft, electric garden tools, electric mechanic tools, electric motor cycles, electric bicycles, electric scooters, electric farm tractors, electric construction equipment, electric delivery vehicles, ...... everything is going electric. No worries about starting after sitting for a few months. Gas always needs repairs.

I am more concerned on interior quality. That is also becoming a mental barrier for me. It might have been a good excuse 5/10 years ago for pioneer bringing EV technology such as Tesla, Renault ... but more difficult to accept nowadays. Vw went too far in cost cutting from that side especially with a price which is still premium (you can get a bmw 320e for the same price!). Tesla has progressed a lot ... still an effort on production control and the quality will match the price. Vw group is destroying its quality image ...
