Here I describe how to connect the different external lights, on a tractor, (or any other vehicle....) using simple circuits and switches.
Small wattage bulbs, like position light bulbs, can be connected directly from the switches.
This also applies to direction indicator bulbs, which are usualy 21 watt.
For higher power bulbs, like the 55Watt headlamp bulbs, you are better off using a relay.
Always remember to put a fuse before any connection, to protect the wiring from fire.
The cables should be multistranded and of good quality.
Place the front lights to the front of the tractor, and the rear lights a bit to the inside, on the fenders, to protect them from trees and stuff.
The switch I use is from a mortorbike. You can get it (where else???....) in the scrap yard, or at a motorbike garage. They are usualy quite durable and can hold the current without problems. And the mechanic may give it to you for free just to get rid of it.
