Shooting the RPG-7 is not a rocket science - point straight thought a right range level, and that is exactly where it goes. The only thing that matter is a side wind, the warhead turns a side it goes from.

In the few places where NATO forces WERE still in the country, the Taliban didn't dare engage. Oh, and the soviets. This is why I love Russians. I had no idea that an RPG was this powerful. This is the only video that gives you a real look at what this rocket is capable of. The HEAT just ripped through that glass and kept going! Incredible to see would love to see what a HEDP would do against a tank or building.
I would like to see what the HEAT charge really does to a dummy in an enclosed space (tank). Does the heat kill ? The blast or just the hot molten metal stream ? What does what when and how much ? This would be interesting.

Гранатомет РПГ-7, созданный в середине прошлого века и принятый на вооружение в 1961 году, надежный и простой как молоток, дешевый в производстве, использовал, как я помню с армии, три вида кумулятивных выстрелов,: ПГ-7В с бронепробиваемостью 250мм (это которые в интернете обычно "испытывают" на абрамсах, сравнивая их с комариными укусами :), ПГ-7ВЛ (500мм брони) которые довольно успешно жгли вражескую технику на протяжении полувека, и тандемный ПГ-7ВР (динамическая защита + более 600мм брони, или полтора метра бетона), способный уничтожить ЛЮБОЙ современный танк, а также термобарический и осколочный выстрелы. Этот старичёк до сих пор стоит на вооружении многих армий мира, модернизируются выстрелы к нему. Вот такое оно, "устаревшее" оружие, которое даже на фоне современных гранатометов выглядит довольно достойно :)
Я не понимаю а в чем разница между устаревшим и современным гранатометом ? вы сами написали что модернизируются только выстрелы к нему. Так можно про все сказать, у танков пушка остается прежней круглая труба с дыркой, у балистических ракет все такая же шахта для запуска, только у самой ракеты начинка меняется
Stas Ryabtsev Ты удивишься, но в большинстве случаев - это именно так:) Можно взять гранатомет выпуска полувековой давности и стрелять современными выстрелами. Так же и старенький АК, пролежавший в консервации будет работать современным боеприпасом не хуже современного ствола. Танк давно стал многоцелевой машиной. Танковое орудие с прошлого века работает с разными типами боеприпасов, включая управляемые, с возможностью запуска прямо из ствола, с дальностью стрельбы 5-7км, и что ты в нем поменяешь? Длину, калибр? А зачем? А вот новый боеприпас, способный поразить цель,, например вертушку, на дальности, допустим в десяток километров, есть смысл разрабатывать. Ту-160, разработанный в середине 70х - после модернизации бортовых систем является одним из лучших, если не самым лучшим стратегическим бомбардировщиком в мире. С баллистическими ракетами - тут м.б. сложнее, но подозреваю что новую шахту копать не нужно будет:) И ничего невероятного тут нет. Практически все новые разработки - это модернизированные старые. В интернете масса информации на эту тему, вот только современное общество интересуют совсем другие вещи. А вообще "старого" оружия в России столько, что в случае глобального конфликта можно будет вооружить каждого жителя десятками стволов, вот только не каждый сумеет ими воспользоваться, потому что большинство населения - беспомощные домашние хомячки, выращенные в стерильных условиях, которые будут метаться в панике, спасая свои "айфоны" с "ренжроверами"и надеяться на спасение со стороны вояк и ментов, которым они нах будут не нужны.....но это уже, не в тему, это другая опера....

Stas Ryabtsev Ты невнимательно читаешь. Выстрел может быть ровестником гранатомета, а ПГ-7ВР образца 61 года способен одолеть более 600мм брони за динамической защитой, т. е. любой современный танк. И вероятность поражения танка с первого выстрела зависит от условий хранения боеприпаса и мастерства гранатометчика.

***** Did you notice, or was it just me, but it seemed that he was using a different type of warhead, looked like it was a proximity grenade. I know that the RPG-7 has a variety of attachments avaliable. Here is the warhead I am referring to PG-7VR But yea, pretty sweet for an arnament that was build in the 1960's.
+Armyan1988 RPG's use a warhead which utilizes a shaped charge to punch a penetrator through the metal, pay attention to the stream of gas right after the det coming out the back of the target. AFAIK thats pretty much how it worked since it was taken into service.
+Armyan1988 good eye he uses a more modern variant of the standard warhead instead of 350mm the moder one can penetrate 500mm as well as beeing mutch more accurate.
Well I suppose that there is some gas bring accellerated as well. But the damage is being done by a metal cone that was superplastically deformed into metal spike that is travelling at about 5 to 7 km/s on average. ( the tip moves faster than the rear end ).
@Waxel Punkt The copper jet is naturally diffracting while travelling even in open air, like a Kärcher jet, and losing efficiency very quickly. According to Wikipédia, this kind of jet can go through up to 60 cm of steel or 1 m of concrete, or even 3,7 meters of land.
A lot of people don't know that 400mm of glass + all that space can actually be more effective than 400mm of pure RHA steel. (this is the PG-7VL warhead that can penetrate over 500mm of steel)
Это не гранатомёт, это кумулятивный снаряд, он прожигает броню, при пробитии внутрь попадают брызги расплавленного металла, которые убивают экипаж и создают температуру внутри в сотни градусов выше нуля. А сам танк относительно целый, только пользы от него мало уже, так как экипаж ликвидирован.
