I love DotA 2 but I just miss Razor being the Lightning Revenant and Shadow Fiend being Nevermore hahahaha (Most of the original names were derived from other Blizzard games like Diablo and Starcraft, so DotA 2 didn't include them anymore to avoid legal issues with Blizzard)
@Iaonnis what are u talking about man? all heroes on dota 2 have their hero and true names, you can find them in the menu in the hero's biography, the thing is, there is no point of having both being written in the HUD in the middle of the game as dota 1 used to have. back then, the characters of dota didn't have any personality at all, they were limited to have the same responses and models as a wc3 hero for being a mod, now the game has a face, if it was ever lifeless it was before dota2.

@@harrison00xXx The game does have a toxic community, heavily toxic community, it's true, but what game doesn't have one? It isn't right to blame a game for its toxic players. If you don't know, back then, on dota1, there was a thing called blacklist which was used to kick players with certain nicknames or players that you put on the list because of bad experiences, and people used to share those blacklists with each other and complement them creating new lists. Toxicity was an issue back then and is an issue nowadays on EVERY game, it isn't exclusive from DotA.

@@Prideace93 its a company its suppose to care about money, grow up kid no company can rune properly without thinking alot about money also valve is well known to care about their customers thats why they make lots of money . like they make very low price sales from time to time even making some free for other people to be able to buy games, and even revives fan favourite games that use to be mods like team fortress and dota they were able to revive dota and other games because they listen to the fans and players ofcourse theyll capitalize on that youd be stupid not to thats how you keep a company and game servers alive.
Alexander Feoktistov exactly the two reason why I left dota 1 to dota 2 is because of a lot of toxic players with no punishment & bad connections 6 of 10 games the player in your game will leave/discontent In dota 2 you can report them and they’ll pay for it if they get too many reports
kinda missed that, hated fucking idiots in dota 2 on side lanes using courier on 2min for a tp scroll. I would scream to them "BUY YOUR OWN FUCKING COURIER!" and not share my courier with them if it's in dota 1.
Ahh... the good ol' days when I could choose my team mates before game started, meet cool people and party up with them every day, 80% of the playerbase was decent or good, TURN RATE actually existed instead of instant turn 180 and pop skills etc. So many mechanics from the old DotA were removed. Auras were actually visible on heroes, BKB made you twice your size... I hate being almost 30 and looking at what DotA has become.
Same here, community was so good and nice in Dota 1. Even the Russians. I think for people like you and me good thing to have is Ps4 pro with some 2 000 euro tv. We can play Horizon zero down and games like that. This games today are really just for profit, they dont have soul. And i think that Bliazzard will do the same thing to Warcraft 3 reforged, they just wont money, They will find ways to monetize Reforged, maybe with skins hats and boxes. They will try to make game more colorful and addictive so that litle kids get hoked up. I stoped playing games, because i am not stupid kid anymore. And i dont have money for ps4. I stoped playing games on pc and told myself that i will start playing again when blizzard makes warcraft 4. And I am not optimistic because i saw the demo gameplay, and it is product of capitalistic mentality made by company that once had a soul and made great games buy they lost it. Single player is way to go for veterans like me and you.
I m 31 now. Really miss those old days playing LAN games with my highschool friends. So interesting so emotional. None of current games bring the same feelings. Modern games for me is kind of senseless, meaningless. I no longger play games with huge enthusiasm like before and no emotions left after finish playing
Because these are voices that Blizzard recorded for warcraft 3, they just so happen to feel very appropriate in dota, too. And yes, Blizzard voice actors fucking nailed it.
if you want to hook AI,you need to hide somewhere in forest or in fog,if AI see you when you trying to cast hook AI will dodge.....sry for language....
When you compare it like this, Dota 1 looks and sounds so much cooler and seems so much more....complex (or have lots of things going on) and so much more exciting. Hearing the shop people talk and the heroes talk from back then is soooo cool. But Dota 2 is also better in some ways, graphics wise it's more detailed but more simple too, you can see the difference, or maybe I just miss Dota 1 a bit lol.
in dota 1 -your courier can cast dagon and any other active items -free weather maps and colorized river -can block invis unit with droped items -can destroy enemy fountain -pudge can use forcestaff for longer hook -aghanim make visual effects on your hero (Earthshaker is the best) -and lot of things good game, good player, good creator -APSO :D
I remember (and I miss this BADLY) playing dota OMG. It was dota but you could pick whatever skills you liked from all of the skills available in the game, or go random. I remember having picked rooftrellen once (probably 10+ years ago) when centaur's ulti was extra HPs, and I have picked enchantress' untouchable ability, tiny's craggy exterior, void's backtrack, and centaurs' ulti. I was fucking unkillable. Sure, it was boring as well cause I had no active abilities, but that game I just couldn't die. I would literally leave rooftrellen in the middle of the map and let everyone hit me with whatever they wanted and no one could kill me, while I was drinking tea and laughing at them :D .... And -ar was fun, too cause I have once ended up with doom, maledict, and zeus'ulti, and no one would know what abilities each hero had until they would fight you many times so they could figure out your abilities.... Man, I miss dota OMG so much. Sometimes the past is way better than the present and the future :(

The voice lines originate from the Dreadlord in warcraft 3. The campaign is one of the best stories I've ever played, not to mention world of warcraft is the sequel.
Remember the ''jungle stalker ancients'' and the ''dragonspawns ancients'' ? those fuckers with evasion, they never get added into dota 2 for some reason, but instead OSfrog created the fuckin prowlers, i hate those creeps even more

В доте первой была какая то изюминка или же другими словами Душу вкладывали, а не то что щас творят с дотой 2ой- игра стала для школьников и дурацкие насмешки , баланса нету , у шмоток почти нету урона , игра стала командной почти полностью! Раньше мы могли тащить в соло ,а теперь почти невозможно, послевкусие игр в доту - остаётся негативный осадок даже в случаях победы а такого в доте фрозен трон не было . Другими словами игру убили . Айсфрог продался отдав права Вольво и перестал делать от души , а начал делать ради денег и развлекать детей а не олдскулбных игроков , которые по настоящему любили эту игру и щас с большим непринятием играют в эту парашу дота 2 , а если спросят почему не вернёшься обратно в 1 ую ответ просто из за графики только а сценарий и детализация в доте 1ой лучшая была на время и щас - Айсфрог уделял внимание деталям !.

This is just incredible how much influence Blizzard did to the game industry (I know, they are not the authors of the map, I mean they made the game dota 1 based on, most of character designs etc)
The Sound Effects In Dota 1 Were Great. Every Creep Had A Different Sound For When He Attacks Or When You Kill Him And The Soundtrack In WC3 Made Everything Better.
@@darklordish1 They would have never had the chance to steal it if Blizzard took the game under their wings as it was gathering steam. What I am saying is it was all there for Blizzard. They could have established a monopoly on fantasy mobas. But they only understood its value when another developer started capitalizing on it.
I started to play Dota 1 when I was 12 years old and continued till 16 then left playing when Dota 2 came.. because I didn't liked Dota 2 much it has depleted the powers of my favourite characters like morphling , phantom assassin and many more
I miss everything about Frozen Throne, not just dota, so many different games, custom hero arena, green td, legendary monsters, natural selection among so many others I know I just can't think of the names after all these years.
