Thank you so much for the tutorial. I wasn't sure if the key needed to be reset at the dealer. So this was great. I was starting to get locked out of the car on a daily basis. lol
I just love RU-vid. Whenever I don't know how to do something, there's always a video for it. This is one of the best tutorials I have seen in a long time...short, concise and gets the job done. Thanks!!
Thanks a bunch! Wasn't sure how to open the case of the key fob without damaging it, and here you are showing me! It's videos like this that are such time savers, and make life easier. It's the "little victories" sometimes, right?!
@@jimmcwhorter9772 shouldn’t be stranded. Even with no battery you can still start your car. Put the key fob in the back left side in the center console
Thank you so much!!! I didnt know I could change it so easily, I asked around and I was told it would cost up to $400 to replace but really they just wanted to scam me smfh. You just saved me tons of money ❤
Don’t use a screw driver, it can easily damage the housing, especially when you pry on the side of the keyfob. Use the physical key itself, i’ts much easier too. It is also described in the manual.
Just examined the idea, there's a little notch that would hold the key. That's what I used to brace the end while I twisted. Worked like a charm. Thank you.
I Changed the battery in the past by opening the case with the key. For some reason this ti.e it wouldn't budge and it was hurting my hand. The screw driver with a nice handle gave me the extra grip I needed.🤷🏽♀️
i love ya brotha. saved my life lmao. i got stuck at pizza hut and there was a walgreens next door and i looked this up and borrowed a flathead to do this and now im back in my car. thanks!
Nicely done video. FYI you can use the key instead of the screwdriver. Slip the tip of the key back in the slot and twist . The parts will come apart, accessing the battery.
That just helped me a lot. I was outside, -30°C trying to press the button harder because I tough was bad function. And it was just the battery. So, thank you! 👏🏻
Thank you. I had issues trying to replace my battery. This was very helpful and I was able to fix it. The owners manual for my car needs to be updated with your instructions :)
Awesome thank you so much and you should do more video it’s rare to hear a female voice doing car videos like this maybe show us controls buttons etc for the ppl that don’t know where’s what on their Malibu 👍🏼
Right on time . I had to call Roadside, only to find out about the hidden compartment , to use emergency key inside the fob 🤯 Omw my way to get a battery l! Thank youuuuuuu darling ..
great tutorial! you could also use your actual key (the part you put out in the beginning) to open the fob. just stick it into the hole and twist/push gently until you pop the fob open
I was having problems with my new battery not working after replacement so I came to RU-vid to figure it out. I put it in printed side up because that's how the old battery was in there, so when you said printed side down I was like, hahaha, silly girl. Well... In spite of my megalodon sized ego I was like whatever I'll put it in upside down, even though I know that won't work. Well it worked. So... I will take my deep seeded internalized mysoginy and be on my way. Thank you for the help.
Thanks I've been procrastinating for 2 years to change it and I'm surprised the battery kept going 😂. But I used the key to start the opening and then the flathead to open all the way.
Jeani that key is supposed to fit the door the back part of the handle "pops " open to access the lock if it doesn't unlock your car I would definitely talk to your dealer
