EASY WAY to turn OFF AUTO STOP 

I just tried this. It worked! No auto stops from 60 to 0, 40 to 0, 20 to 0,10 to 0, or multiple stops! Appreciate it man!

Saw your video 10 minutes ago and I went for a test drive I can confirm this actually works no stall no nothing no engage on the autostop what so ever 🤙

I have been driving my 2018 Equinox using this method for the past 3 yrs and works great with no issues to the vehicle.

We have a 2019 Equinox, using this trick for 3 years now, works great. Also when you get to a winding mountain road, I select 3, better handling and saves the brakes. I was a mechanic for 35 years, I can tell you disable auto stop, it will save you from having future problems, that are related to the auto stop system. 🤓

Finally someone knows what to do! It worked great on my gmc Arcadia 2018

Kudos for a very good direct-and-to-the-point presentation of the "fix." I recently bought a 2019 Chevy Equinox with the 6-speed and simply put it in "L," set it to "L-6" with the little "+" sign, then drive away. I also talked to the shop manager at the dealership where I bought the Equinox and he assured me that it would not harm the vehicle at all and that it also would not affect the extended bumper-to-bumper warranty I bought. Badda bing, badda boom!

If you're uncomfortable doing this, there is a very easy way to defeat auto stop while driving. Simply pump the brake pedal lightly when you are approaching a stop. The computer will think you are in stop and go traffic and will not engage auto stop/start. One or two pumps and you don't even have to lift your foot from the brake pedal. It becomes second nature after a bit. Our Chevy salesman showed me this trick when we picked up our 2017 Cruze.

2020 GMC Terrain with 4 cylinder and dash mounted push button transmission shifter buttons. This method works great! Thank you!!! Tried it today on a 17 mile run that normally would have resulted in 12 engine shutoffs and restarts. (This auto shutoff feature is incredibly stupid and I won’t go into all the reasons why.) thank you so much for this tip!!!!

This method is waaay better than the last video I saw. They disconnected a wire harness close to to hood latch.

What also works is putting your a/c temperature to the lowest setting. That eliminates having to put it in L gear all the time.

Hey mate , there is a fuse you disconnect under the hood. It takes five seconds and stop start function will be disabled once and forever. It is the only permanent fix. I have successfully done it to my equinox

Stupid question. Do I keep my foot on the brake when shifting to LOW? Sorry. I have always owned older cars. This is my first new car and the auto stop is driving me nuts.

Have only drove a couple of vehicles with auto stop . It was really easy to figure out that all you needed to do was be easy on the brake pedal and the engine never stopped. Don’t push pedal all the way down when you don’t need to .
