I'm in a AirBnb house with one of this And I was trying to open it to clean But every attempt looked like I would break the thing Is not obvious the way to open, so I almost broke the vacuum, so this video saved me Thanks
Surprisingly unintuitive. First I tried pulling the red empty trigger which does nothing of course. Pushing it, the trigger clicks open, but not the bin...unless you continue to push quite hard and the thing suddenly gives way and slides down!
Abomination. Perfect word! I was further away from being able to empty after studying them. A simple “pull down to empty” on the lever would have solved it.
These cleaners are meant for a quick clean up....if I have to strip the unit down to clean it every time I I empty the bin it kinda defeats the object given the bin is so small. Dont get me started on the cheap materials and parts used. Mr dyson is very happy. Last dyson I ever buy....shark all the wall, henry for the heavy stuff. These are just to high maintenance for day to day living / cleaning and not worth the price
Thank you for posting this video. I was soooo frustrated. I pet sit for friends. They have 2 dogs and 2 Dysons. I've always used the older model because they showed me how to empty it. Simple enough. But it's battery doesn't hold a charge anymore. It was challenging to figure out how to get the V10 out of the charger. It kept pulling off the wall. I thought I would break it. The V10 needed to be emptied but it wasn't anything like the older model. The images on the vacuum, "click click" were useless. Even after watching the video I had to struggle to pull the handle off. A huge ball of hair and dust was stuck in the recepticle. The V10 also had an annoying high pitch whine. It's not light either. I used the V10 because I had to, but I would never buy one. Again, thank you for your help.
Great method if your vacuum is full of dry soil (or whatever they're using in this demo), but with actual dust in the bin, emptying it produces a huge cloud of dirt that can't be easily contained. I don't recommend doing it inside - which makes the product as a whole much less convenient.
@@wetham8667 dust =/= dirt, shooting DUST into the trash can will have dust particles come up and out, yes a majority will be in the bin but an uncomfortable amount will end up on the floor and possibly on you as I have just discovered
This version has a design flaw! If you remove and wash the clear bin, it will get stuck (because it is too clean & dry). To fix this, use some powder on the red rubber seal.
I replaced my older Cyclone with this new one and I regret it now. Poor re-design. The previous design was better. In order to empty the canister on the new style you have to take off any attachments (not necessary on the previous design). When emptying the canister (more often than not) you have hair and other debris that are stuck on the upper part of the cylinder that do not empty when you push the slider down. So you have to either stick your hand inside and manually pull out whatever you can grab or pull the red tab shown in this video and basically dismantle the whole canister. What a pain in the a$$. The older design would empty in a totally different way and it was unnecessary to do this.
I needed a new bin runner for my V10. My bin keeps sliding off whenever I empty it. Turns out the plastic tab at the end is broke off. The new part arrived but has no instructions on how to switch the part out? Can’t find instructions or video anywhere? Any help out there? Thanks in advance

When I firmly pushed the bin release lever the entire bin slid right off the front of the machine, I can still use it but that's ridiculous, that shouldn't be happening.

Two questions on V10 please: 1. How can I fix a broken red click connection plastic between the vacuum main body and its brush-attached plastic cylinder? 2, Is it normal to experience a significant sucton/cleaning time loss (40-50% per experience) after around 3.5 years of usage with the same suction setting and charged condition?
I just figured out how to remove the bin but when I did it opened and all the dirt spilled out everywhere. And now the plastic lid to the bin won't close. Horrible design.

One thing that Dyson does not talk about in this video is cyclone cleaning. This is by far the most nonsense thing you'll ever encounter in your life. The ONLY WAY you can clean cyclone in this machine is by hitting it repeatedly with your hand like for many minutes and force the micro dusts out. But still this goes on and on and you'll still have these micro dusts trapped inside. By the way, during this process you will inhale these particles. One thing that the customer service suggested, which is by far the most nonsense thing you'll ever hear, is that you might want to clean this portion with a hair dryer!!! So this means that the dust you sucked in from your home will be forced out of it INTO HOME AGAIN and YOU'LL INHALE them. Search the youtube for videos on cyclone cleaning and you'll be horrified to see how it is the only way to really clean this machine that has design flaw. You're cleaning your home but then again Dyson forces you to either hit it repeatedly with your hand to marginally clean (you can't fully clean it and the filter will give error even if the case is clean and you just washed the filter) OR you take it to somewhere where they give pressured air to your device to clean it for you. This is clearly a design flaw and one that they do not show or mention if you noticed. Do not buy Dyson.
Dyson makes their products different, unfortunately, theres a steep learning curve. I nabbed one of these for 20$ thought it worked, but RIGHT AWAY theres a filter issue. New filter online is 30$ so yeah no, looks cool, doesn't do the trick tho. I'm gonna sell the parts, hopefully get enough to buy a vaccum that actually works.
Poorly communicated instructions in the manual for something that needs force to open. Could have written literally two sentences beside those vague figures in the manual.
Cheaply built junk. Had to go on RU-vid to find instructions on how to empty it, and turns out that the mechanism binds. Not an issue as it stopped working after five minutes. Total waste of money, like all Dyson products. I will work harder to talk my mother out of buying such crap in future.
If you'd like some help with your Dyson feel free to send us a direct message on Twitter at twitter.com/AskDyson or private message from facebook.com/dyson with the serial number of your machine & your contact details.
