My Ancestor was Narvarez.

Definitely they sailed thru hurricanes. Marched thru uncharted land with hostile natives. When the boats were destroyed, they built new ones from the land and used deer carcasses and shirts for sails. The Spanish sailors were definitely hardcore. I wonder what all training they had to go thru to learn all these skills did they learn in the Spanish Navy? They had to do hunting, boat building, navigation, fighting, marching long distances. I only watched the first part but I'm in awe of Cabeza de Vaca's adventures....holy shit.

The word "Conquistadores" does not exist in spanish, it's a mistake. The correct word is "Conquistadores" which is the plural of "Conquistador" a singular word. Ex: 1 Conquistador. 2 Conquistadores.

The Spanish also used the gold/silver of Mexico and Peru to fund their lavish palaces across Spain and the New World... Also, yes, the Spanish did import African slaves. "conquistadors" is a anglicized version of the plural of "Conquistador", and it is wrong because there is already an original version AND there is also an English version (Conquerors), so there is no need to invent another word.
