During the 19-th century, it was common for Ukrainian cities to have a lot of foreign population, both in Austrian and Russian empire. Besides, Lviv was founded by the King of Rus Danylo in 13th century, and was under the polish rule from the late 14th up to the late 18th century. The clame that the city founded by Ruthenian King, on the ukrainian soil has to be polish is ridiculous. Britsh people make up only 35% of London's population today, doesn't mean the city isn't British anymore, same with Lviv - doesn't mean it isn't a Ukrainian city, if at a certain point of history Ukrainian's wasn't the majority of it's population.

Довольно хорошо написано, серьезно, я без сарказма. Жаль только, что федерализм этот только на бумаге и в конституции(которую путин уже не единожды сношал, уж простите за такой глагол) Субьекты федерации не имеют как таковой автономии, все ресурсы добываемые там идут в Москву через посредника губернатора либо президентов национальных республик. А Москва же в свою очередь отдает гораздо меньше чем забирает, в результате множество национальных республик банально на грани нищеты, чем успешно пользуется путинский режим. Ведь когда в условном Улан-Уде мало работы, и она как правило низкооплачиваемая, то единственный выход- это идти в армию, где зарплаты более-менее. Про развитие национальных культур и языков и говорить нечего...Разве что Чечня, и в меньшей степени Татарстан с Тувой особняком стоят. Про аналогии с монголами...Тут больше имеется в виду не этническая составляющая, а ментальная. Тот же Александр Невский в россии национальный герой, который очень резво боролся со шведами. Достойно, не спорю. Только вот почему-то его преданость Батыю, и то что он закабалил для ордынцев Новгород(а я напомню, Батый до Новгорода так и не дошел), воспринимаются как "дальновидная и мудрая политика". Сам путин недавно опять же повторял эти тезисы. Что мол "Орда убивала,грабила, но именно благодаря ей россия стала большой целостной страной". То есть монголы привнесли в государственную традицию россии имперско-ордынский элемент. Просто для сравнения, украинские земли тоже платили дань Орде. Но в нашем менталитете не настолько сильно отпечаталась боязнь барского кнута и гнева царя-батюшки. И у того же Даниила Галицкого не было такой огромной власти, какая была у московских князей. Я уж молчу про моральную составляющую. Как московские чины могли спокойно раболепствовать и даже помогать ордынцам, после того как они убивали жителей Владимиро-Суздальского княжества? Московия очень усилилась именно за счет "крыши" ордынских ханов, и очень быстро подчинила себе всех конкурентов: Рязань,Тверь,Ростов и тд. Окончательно стало ясно что Московия это приемник Золотой Орды, после варварского захвата и уничтожения Новгородской республики. При этом у нас есть огромное количество источников, которые описывают зверства московских войск. Таких же зверств, которые учиняли монголо-татарские войска. И это опять же под лозунгом "один народ-война за воссоединение". Прошлое есть прошлое, не люблю когда прошлое мешает будущему. Правда когда нынешняя россия ведет себя так, как вела с 12-го века, и притерпела минимальные изменения...То тут уже ничего не попишешь. P.S. Despite everything, Poles are more supporting in this aggression than most countries, even the neighbouring ones. This is despite the fact that if there is one country that can be rightfully resentful towards Ukrainians it's Poland. My grandmother still lived during the times of high ethnic tensions in Western Ukraine. She told me a sinister phrase that she heard from her mother: "Ukrainians used to kill Poles during the day and the Poles used to burn their houses at night". Despite the historic bitterness, Poles had enough wisdom to realise that there is an infinitely more urgent and more threatening enemy right now, which is more than I can say for their neighbours down south for example, who don't seem to learn from history ever...
