In case anyone else is interested in the lyrics, transliteration & meaning.... First of all these songs are ancient & this particular one 'Horovel' is the song of the farmers (sort of). In the song the farmer is having a conversation with (& about) nature & with the Ox, trying to encourage him/them to help him prepare the ground for planting & farming. There's more to the story (or to this song) than that. I'm just giving the basic explanation of what's being expressed, on the surface level, in this song. Second, it's hard to find an exact translation for (or the perfect way to explain) the word 'Horovel'. Most aren't even sure what it means. The best I can explain it is that it's an expression that describes something similar to the act of 'Leading The Way'. The other similar sounding terms in the chorus ('hori-lori loro lori...') they have similar meanings to 'Leading The Way' but (perhaps) in reference to the vehicles used for the action or the process of leading. They're also audibly conveying the message of what it would look, sound & feel like for man, animal & the soil during that process. As for 'Ho', it quite literally is the same as 'ho' / 'hoeing' & at the same time it also is the sound that's used for the same purpose as the one cowboys would make while riding a horse. Lastly, there are more lyrics to this song that for some reason were not included in this version. It's something we say as a sign of appreciation or for encouragement or even just admiration for someone or for their traits, talents or attributes. In this song's case he's using it as encouragement, as well as appreciation for the Ox's physical strength & even as sympathy or empathy for the animal's hard work. But that's not how I translated the term. Instead I translated 'ousiit maataagh' as; '...thank God for your strength'. It's the best I could think of for now. As far as pronunciation of the term, for 'ousiit' just think of the name 'Lucy' (without the 'L' & end it with a 'T'). For 'maataagh', the gh' ending in that word is supposed to sound exactly like how the French would say the 'R' in 'regard'. For the entire word think of the 'ma' in 'mama' & then for 'taagh' think of the 'ta' in the word 'tar' (like black tar) while pronouncing the 'r' in the French way.**** In the line 'yezo djan, akhper djan' (dear Ox, dear brother) it may seem strange that he's referring to the Ox as a 'brother'. This again, is a term of endearment & in this case it's used as a sign of compassion for what the animal is going through. For the pronunciation of the 'kh' in the word 'akhper' (brother) think of the Spanish pronunciation of the 'J' in the name 'Jose'. **Enjoy :)
