Cost of Living in japan
I thought of sharing my experience of buying vegetables in Japan.
Although per capita income is different of both counties( India and Japan) but even tough I think rates are pretty high in Japan and we Indians always tries to compare prices with our County :P

Per capita income of Japan is 6 times more than India. So the prices are actually cheap for the Japanese standard.

It's also depends on the cultivation,vegetables are more expensive in japan because they import them from other countries, whether India is the large scale exporter of vegetables, grains and masala and they do not have any MRP system, which is bad because your wallet will get looted over there.

I am Japanese. And I have traveled to India many times.　One of the most troublesome things when we Japanese travel to India　It rips off in shops, restaurants and taxis　Many shops and restaurants in India sell to foreigners in unfair ways for their own benefit　In India, most stores do not have price tags on their products.　This is a big problem for us Japanese.　And if Corona fits in, I would like to travel to India again.

As an Indian, I can confirm what you've experienced isn't uncommon for Indians either. They just up the prices even higher when it's a foreigner. Anyways, to avoid this, just try those well-established popular malls or buy them online. It's still cheaper online in India.

This is really helpful, I was in Japan for 4 years but sadly couldn't find these kind of videos in 2011 and 2010.. I work in a language institute called eigoPaathshala and I often talk to Japanese people about Japana and India. They always tell me that Japan is a little expensive in se areas but not so expensive in others. Thank you for the video it was really helpful..

Their economy is also higher than in India. the per annual income of a Japanese is higher than an Indian. The lowest Japanese salary is approx. 180000 Yen (INR120000). But yes, because of the adverse weather and land condition, the vegetables and fruits are a bit expensive.

@@abhayshrivastava5479 do you even know what per capita income is ?. Per capita income of Japan is 6 times more than India. The value of Rs 20 potato will be same as Rs 100 potato in Japan since an average Japanese earns 6 times more for the same job you will be doing in India.

avg income of middle class in japan is like 3-4 lacs per month. so i heard from japanese guys that they are not saving much. even poor people earn like 1-1.5 lac. just think about them . they cant buy from street vendors like poor people can buy in india

Ek normal indian ki per month khaane ke piche 25 se 30 hazar kharch hote hain. So ek normal japanese ke indian rupees mein zyada se zyada 40 to 45 hazar kharch hote honge

Actually they do import of vegetables and fruits more then cultivating in there own country so thats why these things are expensive over there. It doesn't matter how much your per capita income is you'll get the things expensive cause of the import.

But the salary is credited in Japanese currency so all items have are accordingly. In India also, fruits are expensive only if we see as per the Indian scale. I mean that the percentage of spending and earings is maintained.

This is totally wrong way of comparison. You should compare income with respect to spending of each country. I'm in Canada and we get one banana for 60 cents, which is Rs. 36 for one banana, but this doesn't mean it is costly compared to India as ppl here can easily afford this price as ppl in India can afford its local prices. Same goes for salary, we are impressed if someone earns $2000 here and count it as Rs. 1,20,000. However, after tax cut, it's very difficult to survive here in this salary. So, this is a wrong way of comparison.

The fruits Trees are also feed special food, in special parks where they grow vegetables and fruits, none of the fruits you have bought will have a single blemish, or. Insect park or eaten fruits, for all these facilities prices are higher.

The price in Japan is not expensive if you consider based on their salary. Those living in Japan, these are very normal pricing standard. In fact, i saved more while in japan then compared to in India. Though overall India is cheaper
