Tarikh Episode 289
Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of Indian History in Hindi. In this edition of Tarikh Nikhil talks about Privy purses. Privy purses were fixed payments which were given to rulers of princely states in India. After Independence India's first Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel did this work. In 1971 Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ended Privy purses. After it Pakistan's President zulfikar ali bhutto also took the same decision. But after the anger of nawabs he started a pension scheme for them.
