Hi Nitish - Is it that bad in AIIMS? I really want to know. My son dreams of becoming a doctor and AIIMS Delhi is the top college in India for MBBS. Lately I have been hearing a lot about the work pressure, lack of sleep, and poor working conditions for doctors in India. It's one of the most noble professions but if working conditions are so extremely tough it's quite disheartening. Shall I ask my son to reconsider his decision? Please advise. Thank you.

My colleague was baten brutally for something he wasn't even at fault.Hospital denied to lodge an institutional FIR,he was on his own.Spineless administration and ungrateful people.India do not deserve doctors anymore.

Because the fee in govt colleges is extremely subsidised. Almost free. And where do you think that money is comming from? From the tax payers. If any one does mbbs from a private college the fee is very high , almost 1 crore or even higher. You are obliged to serve in a govt hospital for that reason.

When 4 aspirants died in Old Rajendra Nagar I didn't saw any doctor. It's not about doctor/engineer, it's about humanity. Pr ye logo ko hmsa alag he attention chahiye. Secondly jo doctors protest kr re hai wo junior doctors hai students hai, they are not d ones charging money from patients, they are hardworking amd brilliant students mostly from lower to middle class families that work in such dire circumstances in govt hospital. @@litttledoe have you ever wondered what soldiers go through? Have ever seen them protesting? Leave aside this case, as it is the duty to protest in this case. Do you remember when government was bringing medical bill? Which could have allowed non doctors to give primary care. What was the motivation behind protest? Indian doctors are highly money minded, except a few. I'm not against 1000-2000Rs fee. As per WHO of all c section deliveries 60% Caesarean deliveries were financially motivated.

As doctors, in residency we have to do 24-36hours duty..... Without any off Or rest. Most of government hospitals doesn't have duty room nor proper washroom. When I was working in male wards, I had to use even washroom used by male patients., as workload is such u can't leave ward. If u don't understand, don't comment. We are asking for better working environment and safety

This is case of Rape and Murder . How can you compare these 2.doctor’s are not demanding for hike ,or other facilities . So please use your brain.

My point is instead of asking for better infrastructure , facilities for the betterment of the society as a whole, most people have become pawns of politicians and blaming each other for any problem in the society.There is growing divide in the name of religion,caste, profession, language, and what not.
